Position Summary

The Oracle EPM Managed Services Consultant is responsible for the ongoing support, administration, maintenance, and enhancements of clients’ Oracle Enterprise Performance Management applications. The role requires strong Oracle EPM expertise, an understanding of finance processes, and the ability to resolve functional and technical issues. The role balances day-to-day production support and ticket resolution with planned enhancements and contributions to small-to-medium enhancement projects that improve client EPM applications.

Day-to-day responsibilities include managing incidents and service requests, monitoring integrations and application processes, maintaining configurations, supporting critical financial cycles, and delivering approved enhancements. The consultant works closely with client finance and IT teams to maintain reliable applications and meet agreed service-level commitments.

The successful candidate takes ownership of assigned client environments, communicates clearly, and operates independently while coordinating with Managed Services leadership on priorities, escalations, and matters outside the agreed support scope.

Position Responsibilities

Product Support and Issue Resolution

  • Provide ongoing functional and technical support for assigned Oracle EPM applications, including Planning (EPBCS), Financial Consolidation and Close (FCC), Account Reconciliation (ARCS), and Narrative Reporting, as applicable.
  • Manage incidents and service requests from intake through resolution, maintaining accurate ticket records and timely client updates.
  • Assess business impact and urgency to prioritize work in accordance with service-level agreements (SLAs).
  • Troubleshoot calculation errors, consolidation issues, data discrepancies, integration failures, reporting problems, and access issues.
  • Perform root-cause analysis and implement preventive measures to reduce recurring incidents.
  • Coordinate with Oracle Support on service requests, product defects, and complex issues.
  • Escalate service risks, critical incidents, and unresolved issues promptly to Managed Services leadership.

Application Administration and Maintenance

  • Maintain dimensions, hierarchies, forms, business rules, reports, dashboards, substitution variables, and application settings.
  • Administer user access and security based on approved client requests and access-control procedures.
  • Monitor scheduled jobs, data loads, integrations, and application performance; investigate failures and validate results.
  • Maintain data mappings, integration processes, and administrative automation using relevant Oracle EPM tools.
  • Perform application snapshot, backup, and restoration activities according to documented client procedures.
  • Assess monthly Oracle EPM updates, coordinate regression testing, and communicate potential impacts.
  • Follow approved change-control procedures for testing, authorization, deployment, and post-change validation.
  • Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close, account reconciliation, budgeting, and forecasting activities.
  • Apply functional finance and accounting knowledge to diagnose issues and validate application behavior.

Prepare applications for new financial periods, planning cycles, and approved organizational changes.

Enhancements and Mini-Projects

  • Gather requirements for small enhancements and assess effort, dependencies, and impact.
  • Configure, test, and deliver approved enhancements within the managed services agreement.
  • Identify work outside the support scope and provide information needed for separate assessment and approval.
  • Recommend improvements that increase reliability, improve performance, and reduce manual effort.
  • Adhere to project plans as established for mini-projects and meet all deadlines established between client and internal teams.
  • Identify opportunities to bundle related tickets or requests into larger improvement initiatives.
  • Stay current on Oracle EPM patch releases and product updates

Client Service and Knowledge Management

  • Serve as a day-to-day support contact for assigned clients and manage expectations through clear communication.
  • Participate in service reviews, reporting on open issues, SLA performance, recurring incidents, and improvement actions.
  • Maintain support runbooks, configuration records, troubleshooting guides, and client-specific operating procedures.
  • Provide user guidance and knowledge sharing to client teams.
  • Conduct EPM trainings to client teams covering topics such as SmartView, Report building, and administrator training topics.
  • Support the transition of newly implemented applications into managed services by reviewing documentation, access, known issues, and operating requirements.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to maintain coverage, effective handovers, and consistent service quality.
  • Maintain and pursue relevant Oracle EPM certifications.
  • Contribute to internal service improvement initiatives and other duties relevant to the role.

Work Environment

  • Manages multiple client environments with competing priorities and time-sensitive requests.
  • Works at a steady pace, with periods of increased demand during financial close, planning cycles, and critical incidents.
  • Exercises a high degree of autonomy while maintaining regular communication with clients and Managed Services leadership.
  • Works collaboratively in a remote or distributed team environment.
  • Provides support during agreed service hours; any extended-hours or on-call responsibilities will be defined for the position.
