Job Overview / Purpose Statement

The Data Engineer designs, builds, and maintains data infrastructure to support digital marketing strategies. Working closely with analysts, CSMs, and cross-functional teams, this role ensures data is collected, stored, and processed efficiently and accurately. It also supports the growth of the Data Management & Visualization team by developing scalable pipelines, ensuring quality, and preparing data for dashboards and reporting.

Responsibilities & Duties
Database Management:
  •  Develop, test, and maintain scalable data pipelines to ingest, clean, and transform data from various sources (e.g., CRM systems, Google Analytics, Ad platforms, inventory feeds).
  • Assist in designing, implementing, and maintaining databases to support business needs.
  • Optimize data storage solutions using databases, data warehouses, and cloud services (e.g., Google Cloud).
  • Monitor and ensure the integrity, accuracy, and consistency of database data.
  • Perform database performance optimization and troubleshoot issues as they arise.

ETL Processes:
  • Understand the data flow for the client data to implement new extraction techniques.
  • Develop and maintain ETL workflows to collect, transform, and load data into appropriate storage solutions.
  • Automate data pipelines to ensure timely and efficient data processing.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and implement solutions.
Data Quality Assurance:
  • Conduct regular data audits to identify and resolve data inconsistencies or inaccuracies.
  • Implement and monitor processes to maintain high data quality standards.
  • Collaboration Impact: Positive feedback from team members and stakeholders on data readiness.
Support for Visualization:
  • Prepare data for use in dashboards and visualizations.
  • Collaborate with the analytics to ensure data is structured and available for reporting needs.
Collaboration:
  • Work closely with senior team members and leadership to align data processes with business goals.
  • Provide support for data-related issues raised by internal stakeholders.
  • Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to improve processes.



Requirements

Required Skills & Qualifications
Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
Technical Skills:  
  • Basic knowledge of database technologies (e.g., SQL, NoSQL).
  • Familiarity with ETL tools and processes (e.g., Apache Airflow, Talend, or custom Python scripts).
  • Understanding data formats (e.g., JSON, CSV, XML) and APIs.
  • Proficiency in a programming language such as Python or SQL.
  • Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) is a plus.
 
Soft Skills:
  • An analytical mindset and strong attention to detail.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new tools and technologies.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Experience & Competencies
  • Must be proficient in English (written and verbal)
  • Strong problem-solving, quantitative, and analytical abilities.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and delegation skills.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban).
  • Knowledge of AI/ML integration basics.
  • Ability to work independently and align with a remote team in CST hours
