  • Act as a key liaison between ESG, technical, commercial, legal, and operational teams to ensure alignment and execution of ESG priorities.

Overview:

The Senior ESG Analyst plays a critical role in developing and advancing the company’s Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) strategy. Reporting to the ESG Director, this role works in close collaboration with the ESG Director to shape and implement strategies across the Environmental, Social, and Governance pillars, including decarbonization and climate strategy, social responsibility and people-related initiatives, and governance, risk management, and ethical business practices, while supporting the delivery of regulatory-compliant, decision-useful ESG disclosures.

This person acts as a central point of expertise for decarbonization and environmental innovation and collaborates closely with technical, commercial, legal, and operational teams to develop and execute the company’s ESG roadmap. The role also supports broader ESG priorities such as reporting, stakeholder engagement, and governance processes, contributing directly to regulatory compliance, financing and business development activities, and the company’s long-term sustainability objectives. This position is key to the continued growth, effectiveness, and maturity of the ESG function.

How will you contribute to our success?:

ESG Strategy & Decarbonization

  • Collaborate with the ESG Director in the development and execution of the ESG strategy across the Environmental,
  • Social, and Governance pillars.
  • Lead and coordinate decarbonization initiatives, including GHG reduction strategies, alternative and future fuels, and
  • fleet-wide decarbonization planning.
  • Develop, maintain, and support implementation of the Decarbonization Roadmap, coordinating inputs from internal
  • working groups and subject-matter experts.
  • Provide technical and strategic expertise on climate transition risks, and regulatory drivers.

ESG Reporting & Disclosures

  • Lead the preparation of the Sustainability Report, including planning, data coordination, content development, and
  • internal review processes.
  • Collaborate on the implementation of climate-related and ESG disclosure frameworks, including governance, and
  • risk management.
  • Coordinate internal data collection, validation, and analysis for ESG metrics, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and
  • audit readiness.
  • Prepare ESG dashboards, reports, and presentations for executive leadership, Board-level forums, and external
  • stakeholders.

Regulatory Monitoring & Risk

  • Monitor and consolidate evolving global ESG related regulations that can impact the shipping industry, with the
  • support of Government Relations, Fuel Procurement, Legal, TechOps, Operations, HR, etc.
  • Support the ESG Director in assessing the regulatory impacts and support internal alignment with compliance
  • obligations and disclosure expectations.

Stakeholder Engagement & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Act as a key liaison between ESG, technical, commercial, legal, and operational teams to ensure alignment and
  • execution of ESG priorities.
  • Support engagement and/or directly engage with external stakeholders (governments, industry working groups, and
  • initiatives related to ESG.)
  • Develop clear ESG materials to support business development, financing, and HR/recruitment activities.
  • Lead the ESG Communication Strategy to promote ESG awareness and ownership across the organization. 
The skills you will bring to our team:

Education

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, Environmental Management, Sustainability, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) designation is considered an asset.

Experience

  • 4+ years of experience in ESG, sustainability, decarbonization, environmental, technical, financial, or commercial analyst roles.
  • Experience with climate strategy, GHG accounting, ESG reporting, and/or regulatory compliance.
  • Experience in the maritime or transportation industry is considered an asset.

Technical Skills

  • Strong analytical skills with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience using Power BI or similar dashboard and data visualization tools.
  • Ability to translate complex ESG, climate, and regulatory information into clear, actionable insights.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
