Job Description

The Linux Foundation is adding a Sales Development Representative (SDR) to our sales team. This role will support our sales department as the first point of contact for potential new clients across our membership, training and certification, and events sponsorship solutions. The SDR will evaluate total partner potential based on company, title, and demographic data, and provide warm handoffs to the appropriate salesperson.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain HubSpot and Salesforce records for contacts, clients, and lead disposition fields

  • Co-create and maintain HubSpot templates for warm handoffs

  • Qualify incoming sales calls and redirect inbound calls after pre-qualifying questions are answered

  • Handle incoming misdirected inquiries and re-route to the appropriate support queue

  • Alert when existing members' key contacts (voting, technical, marketing) bounce and engage in efforts to identify the right replacement contact

  • Process incoming purchase orders from training clients into the CRM and generate sales orders for the accounting department

  • Process incoming leads from HubSpot forms via the training website, including initial inquiries and entry of subsequent low-dollar orders into the CRM

  • Process incoming memberships into the CRM to generate sales orders for the accounting department

  • Prepare sales reports to present to the team

  • Assist sales management with auditing sales reps' lead pipelines to ensure lead status is accurate, with proper lead attribution (first, multi, last), and that all leads are responded to by reps

  • Partner with the CRO and sales leaders in the development of evaluation processes and handoff templates

  • Assist with internal corporate partners including project Executive Directors and Training, Certification, and Events leaders

  • Support the sales team's efforts to meet and exceed revenue goals

  • Provide excellent customer service and follow up on requests on behalf of LF sales solution representatives

  • Conduct inbound and outbound calls to warm and cold leads to generate and qualify opportunities

  • Answer live chat messages

  • Assist the team with administrative tasks as needed
