About the Role
For our client, we are looking for an experienced Senior .NET Developer / Tech Lead to join a fintech project focused on payment-related backend solutions.
This is a hands-on technical leadership role combining backend software development with architecture input, technical ownership, and mentoring. You will design and build secure, scalable backend services while helping guide engineering decisions and maintain high development standards across the team.
You will work with C#, modern .NET, SQL, REST APIs, integrations, CI/CD, and Docker in a regulated financial-services environment.
The role is fully remote and suitable for candidates based in Lithuania.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain backend services using C# and modern .NET.
- Contribute to technical design and architectural decisions.
- Build integrations with REST APIs, third-party platforms, messaging systems, and file-based interfaces.
- Develop secure, reliable, and scalable backend solutions.
- Take technical ownership of key services, components, and delivery areas.
- Lead technical discussions and support engineering decision-making.
- Mentor developers and provide guidance on implementation approaches and engineering practices.
- Conduct code reviews and help maintain high code-quality standards.
- Work with SQL and relational databases.
- Contribute to CI/CD workflows and deployment processes.
- Work with Docker-based development and delivery environments.
- Troubleshoot complex application, integration, and production issues.
- Collaborate with product, compliance, QA, and other engineering teams.
- Contribute to technical documentation and knowledge sharing.
- Support continuous improvement of architecture, development practices, and engineering quality.
Essential Requirements
- At least 7 years of hands-on C# / .NET development experience.
- Strong backend development experience.
- Strong experience with REST APIs and system integrations.
- Experience working with distributed systems.
- Strong SQL and relational database experience.
- Experience with Docker.
- Experience with CI/CD practices and tooling.
- Strong understanding of secure and reliable software development.
- Experience working as a Senior Engineer, Tech Lead, or in a similar technical leadership role.
- Ability to take technical ownership and guide other developers.
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
- Good understanding of software architecture and design principles.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Professional working proficiency in English.
Preferred Requirements
- Experience in payments, banking, fintech, or financial services.
- Experience working in regulated or compliance-driven environments.
- Knowledge of ISO 20022 and/or SEPA.
- Understanding of clearing, settlement, or payment-processing flows.
- Experience with Azure or AWS.
- Experience designing highly available or fault-tolerant backend systems.
- Experience mentoring engineers or leading technical delivery across multiple workstreams.
