Position overview

Sports Info Solutions (SIS) is looking for a new team member to fill a full-time position in our tech department as a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer. 

Sports Info Solutions is seeking a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer for a remote role to architect robust software solutions, lead technical initiatives, and mentor engineering talent. This position will focus on building scalable APIs, delivering exceptional frontend experiences, and driving technical vision from conception to deployment to support our high-performing engineering culture and complex customer needs. 

What you’ll do as Senior Full Stack Software Engineer on the team at SIS:

Includes (but is not limited to):

  • Technical Leadership & Team Management: Mentor junior and mid-level engineers, guide technical strategy, and take on direct team management responsibilities to foster a high-performing engineering culture.
  • System Architecture & Backend Scale: Architect and develop highly scalable APIs and software solutions tailored to the complex needs of SIS customers like NFL front offices, MLB analytics teams, NBA decision-makers, and Sportsbooks serving millions of customers.
  • Frontend Excellence: Lead the creation of robust front ends, ensuring cross-browser compatibility and optimal client-side performance, to bring designs to life in the browser with slick user experiences.
  • Strategic Impact: Build and launch new capabilities and products that translate to wins on the field and dollars for our partners, driving technical vision from conception to deployment.
  • Process & Code Ownership: Lead software design planning, conduct rigorous code reviews, and drive the product development lifecycle.
  • Engineering Standards: Define, implement, and uphold our high engineering standards, architecting systems that constantly elevate code quality across the entire organization by designing efficient, reusable, testable, and reliable code.

Qualifications

If you possess the following, you are well on your way to making an impact at SIS:

  • Significant prior success as a Software Engineer working on challenging problems at an enterprise scale.
  • Extensive experience with modern JavaScript/Typescript libraries and tooling (e.g. React, Angular, Vue.js, Next.js) as well as Object-Oriented languages like C# or Java.
  • Demonstrated experience, or a highly motivated desire, to lead, manage, and mentor a team of software engineers.
  • A deep understanding of the Web combined with advanced familiarity with REST design principles.
  • Extensive experience architecting relational databases and a high comfort level with complex SQL.
  • Proven expertise in designing and developing against third-party APIs.
  • Demonstrated ability to not only deliver software as part of a team, but to communicate across teams to define project roadmaps and meet critical deadlines.
  • A champion for code reviews/pull requests who has consistently shown a dedication to well-documented code and Engineering processes.

Nice to have, but not required qualifications

These skills will set you apart:

  • Deep expertise in designing and implementing service-oriented architecture (SOA).
  • Advanced familiarity with a cloud computing environment such as Amazon Web Services (AWS).
  • Specific expertise with Vue.js and ASP.NET Core.
  • Experience establishing and maintaining a comprehensive suite of unit and integration tests for enterprise systems.
  • Mastery of cross-browser compatibility, responsive design, website performance, and accessibility.
  • Passion for sports and/or the sports betting space.

Additional info

Sponsorship is not available for this position. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. The salary range is $105,000 to $135,000.
