About the Role
We are seeking a Staff Environmental Scientist I to support environmental field activities associated with a three-year environmental remediation contract based primarily in southeast Missouri, with a strong preference for candidates within reasonable driving distance of project sites in Jefferson, Washington, St. Francois, and Madison Counties.
The Staff Environmental Scientist I will work as a Field Technician and will spend most workdays in the field providing technical oversight of remedial activities performed by EPA and non-EPA contractors.
The successful candidate will be able to work independently in the field while also collaborating effectively with multiple field staff and contractors from other organizations. During periods of reduced field activity, particularly during the winter months, the position may provide support on other environmental projects, including related field work performed under other contracts.
This is a hybrid remote role based primarily in southeast Missouri that requires an estimated travel of up to 30% annually outside the southeast Missouri area (within the U.S.), to support alternate projects, depending on project requirements.
