Position Overview

This role is a people leader and subject matter expert responsible for leading, developing and scaling a team of Client HR Partners supporting the Elevate client portfolio. This role ensures the delivery of quality, compliant, and consultative HR services across the full employee lifecycle while maintaining strong alignment to service agreements, organizational standards, client satisfaction, and retention. The Manager serves as an escalation point for complex or high-risk situations, translating HR strategy into consistent scalable execution, and driving operational excellence across the service delivery model. This position balances leadership, operational oversight, and strategic consultation to enhance client outcomes, mitigate risk, and strengthen overall HR effectiveness.

  • Lead, coach, and performance-manage a team of Client HR Partners ensuring consistent application of HR best practices and service standards. 
  • Conduct regular 1:1s, case reviews, and skill-based coaching focused on employee relations, compliance judgment, and client advisory effectiveness. Identify skills gaps and training needs through trend analyses; partner with key stakeholders to implement development solutions.
  • Support hiring, onboarding, and ramp up of new Client HR Partners, with emphasis on consultative mindset, risk-based HR guidance and effective book of business management. Provide guidance and quality oversight on employee relations cases, including performance management, corrective action, investigations, and terminations. 
  • Serve as an escalation point for high-risk or complex HR matters, ensuring appropriate documentation, legal and compliance alignment, and adherence to the Elevate services model.
  • Enable consistent, high-quality service delivery that drives client satisfaction, retention, revenue growth, and employee satisfaction.
  • Provide HR recommendations that align with client culture, business objectives, compliance obligations, and defined advisory boundaries, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
  • Maintain hands-on Client HR Partner responsibilities for select client groups as needed, with emphasis on strategic consultation rather than transactional execution. Identify trends in client risk, recurring issues, or policy gaps and develop mitigation or education strategies.
  • Partner with Elevate Services and Client Services leadership to align HR delivery with broader service model that drives client satisfaction, retention, revenue growth and expansion opportunities.
  • Balance HR case volume and complexity across the team to meet service expectations and SLAs.
  • Review HR-specific service quality metrics (e.g., ER trends, case types, escalation frequency, client risk indicators) to guide coaching and process improvements.
  • Act as an internal client advocate; provide feedback on system enhancements, workflows, and operational needs impacting HR service delivery.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, psychological safety, continuous learning, and ethical HR -decision-making.
  • Position will require travel to client sites up to 50%.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
  • Active HR certification (PHR, SPHR, SHMP-CP, or SHRM-SCP) required.
  • 5+ years of progressive HR experience, including employee relations, compliance, and policy development.
  • 2+ years of people leadership experience, preferably leading HR professionals.
  • Strong working knowledge of multi-state employment laws and HR risk management.
  • Experience in a managed services, PEO, ASO, or outsourced HR environment preferred.
  • Demonstrated success coaching HR professionals in consultative and client-facing roles.
  • Experience partnering cross-functionally with payroll, benefits, legal, and operations teams.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and manage escalations in complex or sensitive situations.
  • Data literacy and ability to translate insights into actionable recommendations.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Physical Requirements.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods: The role requires sitting at a desk or workstation for long periods, typically 7-8 hours a day.
  • Use of computer and phone systems: The employee must be able to operate a computer, use phone systems, and type. This includes using multiple software programs and inquiries simultaneously.

The base pay range for this position is $96,200 - $137,400 /yr; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This position is eligible for an annual bonus and restricted stock unit grant based on individual performance in addition to a full range of benefits outlined here. This information is provided per the relevant state and local pay transparency laws for the location in which this position will be performed. Base pay information is based on market location.
