Boyd Thermal by Eaton is seeking Buyer-Planner in our Billerica, MA location.

Primary Function:

In this position you will be responsible for planning and executing supply chain requirements in support of our growing Systems product line of Liquid cooling thermal products (CDU’s and Chillers). This includes placing purchase orders, releasing work orders, expediting materials, and releasing blanket order line off of pre-negotiated purchase agreements. The ideal candidate has a desire to work within a Production team environment with a strong sense of personal and team responsibility, energy to succeed, and learn new techniques and ideas. This position reports to the Planning Supervisor within Operations along with regular participation in Purchasing team activities and initiatives as required.

Essential Functions:

  • Actively participate as a key member of the Operations & Supply Chain Team including daily Gemba walks and production meetings.
  • Review detailed MRP requirements and execute purchase orders and purchase order releases to support the production plan
  • Review detailed MRP planning data to assess material clear requirements for work orders and release to manufacturing.
  • Assist with expedited PO’s and expedite report updates with suppliers as required.
  • Work closely with planning, purchasing, warehouse, and manufacturing staff to drive continuous improvement initiatives’
  • Work with suppliers and internal stakeholders to implement other visual ordering systems(VMI or Kanban) where practical.
  • Participate in Kaizen events / projects, Value Stream Mapping, and root cause analysis techniques.
  • Perform other duties to support Operations and Supply Chain as required.

Qualifications

Basic qualifications:

  • Minimum of an Associates degree in Business or a relevant discipline from an accredited institution is required
  • Minimum 3 years of supply chain experience in a manufacturing company, which includes buying transactions and planning transactions utilizing an MRP system.
  • Experience with ERP systems is required
  • Excellent interpersonal skills as well as strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates that currently reside within the immediate geographical area (50 miles/80 kilometers) of the {Location} facility will be considered. 

Preferred:

  • Oracle Fusion Cloud experience
  • Experience with the implementation of lean manufacturing initiatives such as kanban
  • Supply chain certifications such as CSCP or CPIM
  • Inventory management & warehouse experience

Additional Information:

  • Travel may be required up to 5% of the time to visit regional suppliers (if necessary)
  • Opportunity to gain exposure to and work with many cross functional teams
  • This role is 100% on-site, this is not a hybrid or remote role.

Compensation: $60,000 - $80,000, bonus eligible.
