Responsibilities:

About the role

This position has the responsibility of: process of monitoring, importing and delivering raw materials, finished
products and samples for the production and improvement of our products at the Monterrey plant, LATAM and Ceramic´s Plants.


The solution of problems in the logistics chain and the support to the different departments for the fulfillment of deliveries of materials for the production lines.
Coordination and execution of specific instructions of importation with Forwarders and Brokers about components, raw materials, and finished goods required by Planners.

Define the Transportation method most recommendable in each requirement.
Leads a team of professional technical and/or support employees. Responsible for pay decisions, performance
management.

Primary Duties & Responsabilities

Team Leadership; Operations Oversight:
●Workload; Territory Allocation: Structure daily task assignments across the
three direct reports based on geographic regions (Monterrey, Aguascalientes,
Santa Clara, Tlaxcala), transport modes, or supplier origins.

●Performance; KPI Management: Establish and monitor team performance
metrics, including customs clearance turnaround times, transit report accuracy,
and carrier on-time in-full (OTIF) delivery performance.

●Escalation Management: Act as the primary point of escalation for critical
shipment delays, carrier line-outages, or urgent raw material risks threatening
production lines.


●Budget; Cost Management: Oversee operational spending, establish cost
containment strategies, and drive budget KPI creation and execution to
optimize overall logistics expenditure.

Freight Operations & Multi-Modal Execution


● Multi-Modal Flow Oversight: Direct the team's daily monitoring of inbound
ocean containers, rail hopper cars, air freight expedites, and domestic Mexico
trucking to keep manufacturing lines supplied.


● Carrier Management: Oversee forwarder spot rate quotes, evaluate freight
supplier performance, and manage emergency transport authorizations (e.g.,
air charters, ground expedited).


● Carrier Pricing & Rate Negotiations: Lead freight rate negotiations, secure
competitive spot pricing, and optimize lane-by-lane transport structures to
minimize freight spending.


●Contract Management: Manage vendor and carrier contracts, ensuring
compliance with agreed terms, service level agreements (SLAs), and pricing
structures.


● Express Account Management: Manage small package moves, enforcing
proper usage policies for corporate accounts (such as UPS) with International
vendors.

Cross-Border; Trade Facilitation
● Paperwork Synchronization: Supervise team coordination between buyers,
US/Mexico planners, and customs brokers to ensure complete documentation
(commercial invoices, POs, certifications) before cargo hits the border.


● Customs Issue Resolution: Drive rapid-response actions when shipments
encounter operational holds at border crossings or ports, serving as the liaison
between operations, brokers, and internal Trade Compliance (covering entry
types like A1, AF, IN).


● Delay Tracking & Approvals: Standardize team procedures for logging,
reporting, and securing formal approvals for transit and delivery delays.

C-TPAT Admin & Financial Controls
● Security & Portal Maintenance: Direct the team in collecting, tracking, and
uploading freight vendor certifications (C-TPAT, CAAT, SVI, SCAC) into the
CBP portal per corporate trade compliance guidelines.


● Financial Approvals: Review and approve daily payment orders for customs
expenses, broker fees, and freight invoices prior to submitting billing reports to
Comptrollers.


● Record Integrity: Ensure the team maintains audit-ready digital archives of
transit logs, broker bills, and customs clearance

Multi-Plant & Regional Stakeholder Alignment
● Plant Operational Touchpoints: Lead daily review cadence with Buyers and Planners across the Monterrey, Aguascalientes, Santa Clara, and Tlaxcala
plants, plus the Ryder DC, to realign priorities for urgent shipments.


● LATAM Export Support: Direct team execution for outbound shipments and
export documentation destined for direct LATAM clients.


● Executive Dashboarding: Maintain standardized daily and weekly transit
reports for local plant managers and business unit leaders

Qualifications:

Education:


●Bachelor’s degree in Logistic
or similar


 Experience:


●5+ years of hands-on
experience in international
logistics overseeing ocean
freight, air cargo, and
domestic Mexico
transportation.


●2+ years of direct people
management or team
leadership experience
supervising operational
staff.
●Proven background
coordinating cross-border
US–Mexico freight,
interacting with customs
brokers, and resolving entry
holds (A1, IN, AF entries).

Knowledge:


●In-depth mastery of Incoterms,
freight rate structures, bill of lading
(BOL) procedures, and multi-modal
transit flows.
●Operational knowledge of security
certifications and portal requirements
(C-TPAT, CAAT, SVI, SCAC).
●Practical understanding of
IMMEX/temporary import workflows
and cross-border paperwork
(commercial invoices, certificates of
origin, packing lists).

Skills and Abilities:


● Enterprise ERP proficiency (SAP
MM/WM preferred) and advanced
spreadsheet skills (MS Excel / Google
Sheets).
● Fully bilingual with professional
fluency in English and Spanish
(written and verbal) to interface with
US planners, European/Asian
vendors, and border authorities.
