Who We Are Looking For

We are seeking creative, adaptable Multimedia Creators with a strong background in professional photography, videography, and post-production. The ideal candidate works quickly and creatively in a live-event environment, takes direction well, and recognizes moments with both immediate and long-term marketing value. You are comfortable contributing both behind and in front of the camera, and you manage your own workflow so that all deliverables are complete by the end of each event.

Position Overview

The Multimedia Creator captures, edits, and delivers high-quality photo and video content at Spotlight Events competitions and company events. Working closely with the Marketing Team, this role produces content for Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube, and other platforms, while building an evergreen content library for future social media, advertising, promotional campaigns, and marketing initiatives. Multimedia Creators provide their own professional camera equipment and cross-train with the Boutique Sales team to support customers when needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Photograph dancers, performances, awards, behind-the-scenes moments, venues, and staff throughout each event
  • Capture high-quality video for social media, promotional materials, advertising, and future company use
  • Plan, film, and edit short-form content, including Reels, TikToks, highlights, interviews, and promotional pieces
  • Proactively capture evergreen content for use later in the event week, throughout the season, and in future campaigns
  • Edit and organize photography in Adobe Lightroom and video in Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or comparable software
  • Execute shot lists, content priorities, and campaigns in partnership with the Marketing Team and event staff
  • Take creative direction and feedback professionally, adjusting quickly as priorities change
  • Capture interviews, testimonials, and other directed content, and appear on camera when needed
  • Organize, label, and deliver content according to company workflows, completing deliverables by the close of each event unless otherwise directed
  • Maintain professional standards for image quality, composition, lighting, audio, and Spotlight brand alignment
  • Stay current on social media trends and identify relevant, on-brand content opportunities
  • Cross-train with the Boutique Sales team and support transactions, inventory, and displays during peak periods

Key Qualifications & Competencies

  • Professional photography experience (Required)
  • Experience shooting and producing professional-quality video content (Required)
  • Proficiency in Adobe Lightroom (Required)
  • Experience with professional video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or DaVinci Resolve (Required)
  • Working knowledge of camera settings, lenses, lighting, composition, and exposure in challenging or rapidly changing environments
  • Strong understanding of vertical and horizontal video formats for social media and digital marketing
  • Experience creating content for brands, live events, sports, dance, or performing arts (Preferred)
  • Knowledge of dance, performing arts, competitions, or live events (Preferred)
  • Strong creative eye and attention to detail, with the ability to follow shot lists, creative briefs, and brand guidelines
  • Strong organizational, time-management, and communication skills, with the ability to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Comfortable receiving feedback, working independently or as part of a team, and appearing on camera when requested

Equipment Requirements

Multimedia Creators provide and maintain their own professional photo and video equipment in reliable working condition and arrive prepared for each assignment. At minimum, this includes:

  • A professional interchangeable-lens camera capable of high-quality photo and video
  • Professional lenses suited to live-event photography and videography
  • Sufficient batteries, chargers, and accessories for a full event day
  • A computer capable of efficiently editing professional photo and video files
  • Access to Adobe Lightroom and professional video editing software

Work Environment & Physical Demands

Travel is required during our event season (January–July), and team members must reside within reasonable proximity to a U.S. international airport or hub to accommodate frequent travel.

On average, the role involves attending approximately 6–10 regional events each year, typically lasting 3–5 days, with the possibility of 1–2 national events lasting 6–8 days. 

Physical demands include lifting up to 50 pounds, setting up equipment, and working in a variety of environments, such as event venues, hotels, and stages. Staff members must also be comfortable sharing hotel accommodations with same-gender colleagues during event assignments.

Mock Training: All new/first year event staff are required to attend an audition and training session in Eagle, Idaho (Typically hosted January 4th–8th). Spotlight provides flights, transport, lodging, and meals. Travel may occur one day before or after the scheduled dates.
