Senior US Tax Preparer

About the Role

Our client is a U.S.-based CPA firm seeking an experienced and proactive Tax Preparer / Project Manager based in the Philippines. This role is ideal for someone who has prior experience working in a U.S. tax firm and has a strong understanding of both tax preparation and accounting fundamentals.

You will own the pre-tax preparation process, including reviewing incoming tax documents, organizing client files, preparing tax workpapers, entering data into CCH Axcess Tax, coordinating with PH-based bookkeepers, managing fixed assets, and ensuring all supporting schedules are complete, accurate, and ready for U.S. CPA review.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of U.S. tax preparation experience
• CPA license highly prioritized (not required)

Hands-on experience with the following tools:

• CCH Axcess Tax
• CCH Fixed Assets
• SmartVault
• Karbon or other practice management systems
• QuickBooks Online and/or Xero

Strong understanding of:

• Financial statements and reconciliations
• Tax workpaper structure and documentation standards
• Fixed asset accounting and depreciation schedules
• 1099 reporting and tangible asset filings
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
• Reliable internet connection and a quiet, professional work environment
• Strong attention to detail, ownership mindset, and accountability
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Nice to Have

• Experience working directly with U.S. CPAs or tax managers
• Familiarity with U.S. payroll and benefits platforms (e.g., Gusto, ADP)
• Experience in Excel-based financial modeling for tax planning or cash flow analysis
