Credentialed Trainer / Patient Merge Specialist (Epic)

Position Summary

CTG is seeking experienced Credentialed Trainers with a clinical background to support a major Epic implementation project. These consultants will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of patient records by performing and validating patient merges leading up to go-live.

This position is ideal for clinicians who have Epic experience, strong attention to detail, and a thorough understanding of patient identification, registration, and chart management workflows. Consultants will work closely with HIM, registration, operational, and Epic teams to identify, evaluate, and merge duplicate patient records in preparation for a successful system go-live.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and validate potential duplicate patient records.
• Perform patient merges according to established organizational policies and procedures.
• Research and resolve discrepancies within patient demographic and registration data.
• Ensure patient record integrity and support enterprise master patient index (EMPI) cleanup efforts.
• Work collaboratively with HIM, registration, ambulatory, inpatient, and project teams.
• Follow Epic patient identity management and duplicate record workflows.
• Document merge activities and maintain audit compliance.
• Escalate complex patient identity issues when appropriate.
• Support data quality initiatives leading up to Epic go-live.
• Participate in project meetings, status updates, and training sessions.
• Assist with user education related to patient identity best practices as needed.

Required Qualifications

• Epic Credentialed Trainer (CT) status required.
• Clinical background required, including one of the following:
  • Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
  • Medical Assistant (MA)
  • Respiratory Therapist (RT)
  • Allied Health Professional
  • Other relevant clinical experience
• Experience performing patient merges within Epic.
• Understanding of patient registration, scheduling, and patient identity management workflows.
• Strong knowledge of duplicate record identification and resolution processes.
• Experience supporting Epic implementations, upgrades, or optimization projects.
• Exceptional attention to detail and data accuracy.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Epic Ambulatory, Cadence, Prelude, Grand Central, or HIM experience.
• Experience supporting large-scale Epic go-lives.
• Prior experience with chart correction, patient identity management, or EMPI initiatives.
• Experience working with hospital and ambulatory patient access teams.
• Previous training or end-user support experience.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is a Credentialed Trainer with a clinical background who has hands-on experience performing patient merges within Epic. They are highly detail-oriented, understand the importance of patient identity integrity, and can help ensure the organization's patient records are accurate and prepared for a successful go-live.

Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $50.00 to $55.00/hour. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, market factors, and where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. In addition to salary, a competitive benefit package is also offered.
