Envista Manager, IT ERP - Oracle Manufacturing (Brea/Irvine, CA)

Job Description:

JOB SUMMARY:

Envista is looking for a Manager, IT ERP - Oracle Manufacturing to lead the functional health, integrity, and strategic roadmap of our global Oracle E-Business Suite Manufacturing platform. This hands-on leadership role will manage internal and managed-service partner resources while serving as the organization’s lead functional expert for Oracle Manufacturing. The position will partner closely with Operations and IT stakeholders to deliver scalable solutions, resolve complex production issues, and bring greater consistency to a manufacturing environment spanning multiple plants, brands, and countries.

Candidates must reside within a commutable distance to both Brea, CA and Irvine, CA, as the office location will be relocated from Brea to Irvine in approximately Q1 2028. This is not a hybrid or remote opportunity and requires onsite presence 4 days per week.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Hands-On Oracle Manufacturing Functional Leadership

• Serve as the primary functional authority for Oracle EBS Manufacturing, including Bill of Materials, Engineering, Work in Process, Flow Manufacturing, MES for Discrete, Cost Management, and Quality, along with the supporting configurations that tie them together.
• Lead solution design, configuration, testing, and rollout for enhancements, integrations, and upgrades.
• Own the manufacturing setup across operating units, inventory organizations, and plants, spanning multiple legal entities and regions
• Clear stuck jobs, failed transactions, and interface errors yourself, tracing problems across BOM, routings, WIP, costing, quality, and the links to inventory and the sub-ledgers.
• Troubleshoot complex production issues directly, including cross-module and cross-system problems that require tracing data from the shop floor through WIP and costing into inventory and GL.

Bill of Materials, Engineering, and Change Control

• Own the Bill of Materials structure end-to-end: manufacturing and engineering BOMs, phantom and common BOMs, alternates, effectivity dates, and mass changes.
• Own Oracle Engineering and the engineering change process: engineering items, Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), revision control, and the controlled handoff from engineering to manufacturing.
• Support New Product Introduction (NPI), by bringing new and revised products, structures, and routings into production cleanly and on schedule.
• Ensure item, BOM, routing, and change data stay accurate and synchronized with the quality system and with downstream planning and costing.

Routings, Resources, and Shop-Floor Execution

• Manage routings, operations, departments, resources, and work centers, and the standards that drive scheduling, costing, and capacity.
• Manage Work in Process: discrete job creation and scheduling, material issue and backflush, resource and overhead charging, move and completion transactions, scrap, and job close.
• Manage the MES for Discrete shop-floor experience: operator workbench, dispatch lists, move and completion flows, and electronic shop-floor records.
• Manage Flow Manufacturing where used: line design and balancing, flow schedules, kanban replenishment, and mixed-model production
• Support outside processing (subcontract operations), including the purchasing and receiving handoffs for OSP steps.
• Manage the custom WIP extensions and site-specific shop-floor customizations that support plant-specific manufacturing, and keep them documented and controlled.

Mobile Shop-Floor Applications

• Manage the mobile manufacturing and mobile quality applications used on the shop floor for barcoded WIP moves, completions, material transactions, and quality data collection.
• Keep device, barcode, and scanning workflows fast and reliable for operators, and resolve issues across the mobile layer, WIP, inventory, and quality.

Cost Management

• Manage Cost Management for manufacturing: item costs, cost types, standard cost rollups and updates, resource and overhead rates, and WIP valuation.
• Manage manufacturing variance analysis — material usage, resource, and overhead variances — and the accounting that flows from WIP and inventory into the sub-ledgers and GL, in step with the Finance team.
• Support annual and periodic cost updates and resolve costing defects and misevaluations at the configuration and data level.
• Partner with Finance and Supply Chain to ensure manufacturing costing supports inventory valuation, standard cost, and consolidation.

Quality, Traceability, and Regulatory Compliance

• Manage Oracle Quality: collection plans, specifications, and data collection at receiving, in-process, and completion, nonconformance capture, and the integration of quality into WIP and MES.
• Manage lot and serial genealogy and full forward-and-backward traceability across production, supporting Device History Record (DHR) and recall-readiness requirements.
• Support Unique Device Identification (UDI) and product labeling requirements, including the correct data on labels and records.
• Manage the integration with MasterControl for controlled documents, change control, CAPA, training, and electronic signatures — keeping items, BOM, ECO, and quality data synchronized between Oracle and the quality system.
• Manage the integration with the labeling platform, for shop-floor and product label generation, ensuring labels are accurate, compliant, and driven from the right Oracle data.
• Ensure the platform meets FDA, GxP, and international quality-system requirements, including 21 CFR Part 11 electronic records and signatures, and support computer system validation (IQ/OQ/PQ) for manufacturing and quality changes.

Integrations, Master Data, and Environments

• Maintain a current map of every integration in the manufacturing flow: planning and supply chain, procurement, inventory and distribution, costing and finance, the quality system, labeling, and the shop floor, with named owners and error handling.
• Manage or share manufacturing item, BOM, and routing master data with a data-governance function, and keep it clean as new products, plants, and brands are added.
• Provide operational reporting, shop-floor documents, and the manufacturing dashboards that operations, quality, and planning rely on.
• Keep non-production environments isolated from production, so test jobs, labels, and quality records never affect real production or released product.

Team and Partner Leadership

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of internal Oracle Manufacturing professionals, setting clear priorities and raising the functional execution bar across the group.
• Directly manage the managed-service partner (MSP) resources supporting the Manufacturing stream. Set their daily priorities, hold them to delivery and quality standards, review their work, and integrate them as one cohesive unit with internal staff.
• Own the day-to-day working relationship with the MSP for everything in the Manufacturing domain, including ticket quality, SLA adherence, knowledge retention, and continuous improvement.
• Spread knowledge so no single person is the only one who can run a plant's flow, a custom extension, or a manual setup.

Roadmap, Projects, and Delivery

• Define and maintain a Manufacturing IT roadmap that aligns with business objectives, simplifies and rationalizes the legacy landscape, and builds a scalable foundation for growth.
• Lead Manufacturing workstreams through the full software development lifecycle (SDLC), from requirements gathering through design, configuration, testing, deployment, and post-go-live support
• Lead the manufacturing side of acquisition integrations, bringing acquired plants, products, and entities into the global Oracle Manufacturing landscape where appropriate.
• Drive process automation, less scrap and rework, fewer stuck jobs, faster and more reliable production, and better day-to-day system experience for shop-floor, engineering, and planning users.
• Balance business priorities, technical constraints, and compliance requirements to deliver solutions that hold up over time.

Controls, SOX, and Audit

• Ensure manufacturing processes, setups, and changes meet SOX, IT general control (ITGC), and audit requirements, with strict segregation of duties and documented approvals — including controls over BOM, routing, cost, and inventory-affecting changes.
• Partner with Internal Audit, the SOX program, and Security on walkthroughs, testing, risk assessments, and remediation, addressing findings promptly rather than deferring them.
• Maintain disciplined change management, including change freezes around close and audit periods, and complete, audit-ready evidence for changes that affect BOM, cost, inventory, or quality records.

Stakeholder Partnership

• Build strong working relationships with plant operations, manufacturing engineering, quality and regulatory, supply chain, procurement, and the finance teams.
• Translate manufacturing and quality needs into sound Oracle solutions and communicate system realities back into terms operations and quality leaders can act on.
• Influence priorities and lead change-management activities across teams that do not report to you.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, or Mechanical Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, Supply Chain, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 10+ years of hands-on Oracle EBS Manufacturing functional experience, with deep, current configuration expertise across Bill of Materials, Engineering, Work in Process, Cost Management, and Quality.
• Hands-on experience with both discrete manufacturing (WIP and MES for Discrete) and Flow Manufacturing, including line design, kanban, and mixed-model production.
• Demonstrated depth in manufacturing Cost Management: standard cost rollups and updates, resource and overhead rates, WIP valuation, and variance analysis, and how manufacturing accounting flows into the sub-ledgers and GL.
• Hands-on experience with BOM and Engineering change control, including ECOs, revision control, effectivity, and the engineering-to-manufacturing handoff.
• Hands-on experience with Oracle Quality — collection plans, specifications, data collection, and nonconformance — integrated with WIP and the shop floor.
• Hands-on experience with lot and serial control and full genealogy and traceability in a regulated production environment.
• Experience with mobile shop-floor / barcode transactions (Oracle Mobile Supply Chain Applications or equivalent) for WIP and quality
• Hands-on experience with complex multi-org manufacturing in a large, multi-plant, multi-entity environment.
• Working knowledge of outside processing / subcontract manufacturing and the procurement and receiving handoffs behind it.
• Experience integrating Oracle Manufacturing with an external quality-management system (such as MasterControl) and with shop-floor / product labeling systems (such as TEKLYNX), and autobagger.
• Experience in a regulated medical device or comparable manufacturing setting, working under FDA, GxP, 21 CFR Part 11, and computer system validation (IQ/OQ/PQ) requirements.
• Experience in a global organization with operations across multiple regions and a high volume of legal entities.
• Solid understanding of SOX, IT general controls, and segregation of duties as they apply to BOM, cost, inventory, and quality processes.
• Proven experience leading technical work across the full software delivery lifecycle, from requirements through post-production support.

PREFERRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

• Experience with MasterControl (or a comparable QMS such as Veeva, TrackWise, or ETQ) integrated with Oracle for document, change, CAPA, and training control.
• Experience with enterprise labeling platforms (TEKLYNX, BarTender, or Loftware), and with Unique Device Identification (UDI) labeling and reporting.
• Experience integrating Oracle Manufacturing with a PLM system (such as Agile PLM, Windchill, or Teamcenter) for product and change data.
• Experience with the interface between Oracle Manufacturing and supply/production planning (ASCP or comparable), including capacity and material planning.
• Experience with configure-to-order or made-to-order flows, and with mixed discrete/flow production.
• Experience with shop-floor data collection, machine or equipment integration, and manufacturing analytics such as OEE.
• Experience with site-specific WIP customizations and custom shop-floor extensions in a multi-plant Oracle environment.
• Experience integrating acquired plants and products into an existing, live Oracle Manufacturing landscape.
• Lean, Six Sigma, or APICS/CPIM background.
• Oracle EBS certification.
