Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to ensure the implementation, maintenance, and compliance of the purchasing and logistics-related activities in the Procurement function to support the businesses. Each day, you will execute assigned activities as per ABB standard procedures. You will also showcase your expertise by delivering and participating in training programs as required to ensure compliance and to foster professional development.

The work model for the role is: primarily onsite, with limited flexibility for remote work, in line with ABB's guidelines and policies.

This role is contributing to the Automation Division of ABB in Greece.

Main internal stakeholders are: Project Managers, Engineering Team, Operations & Maintenance Teams, Finance Department, Warehouse / Logistics Department, Quality Assurance / HSE Department, Legal Department, and the main external stakeholders are: Suppliers / Vendors, Subcontractors, Freight Forwarders & Logistics Providers, Auditors (Internal & External), Regulatory Authorities.

You will be mainly accountable for:

• Identification, evaluation, and selection of qualified suppliers - monitoring of suppliers' performance regarding cost, quality, and delivery.
• Managing the end-to-end procurement process from requisition to purchase order issuance and ensuring timely procurement of materials, equipment, and services.
• Executing purchasing and logistics strategies to support the business by optimizing costs, quality, and reliability of suppliers and supplied products.
• Implementing plans and effective strategies for local sourcing of products/materials to meet current and future business targets.
• Applying and implementing procurement standards, tools, and processes in your area of responsibility to secure quality, delivery, cost, and sustainability.
• Tracking supplier deliveries and expediting orders when necessary / mitigating supply chain risks to avoid project or operational delays.
• Collaborating closely with engineering, project management, operations, warehouse and finance teams.
• Maintaining accurate procurement records and documentation / monitoring and reporting procurement KPIs, savings, supplier performance, and order status.
   

Qualifications for the role:

• You are skilled in working with strategic sourcing, supplier management, procurement processes, and ERP-based purchasing systems within industrial automation market
• Ability to demonstrate your experience in project-driven environment / You have 5- 9 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, supply chain process
• You possess enhanced knowledge of SAP, SAP Ariba or other ERP/procurement platforms, as well as advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and procurement analytics tools
• You are passionate about stakeholder management, supplier development, negotiation, continuous improvement, and problem-solving through effective procurement strategies
• Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Economics, or a related discipline. Relevant professional certifications are considered an advantage
• You are at ease communicating in Greek - English, both verbally and in writing
• You hold any required work permits and legal authorization to work in the country of employment. Occasional travel and a valid driving license may be required depending on business needs
