Senior Full Stack Developer

This government contract position requires:

Centex Technologies is seeking a Senior Full Stack Developer for work supporting the Air Force Data Mesh Environment. This engineer will establish technical direction and deliver secure backend services and responsive user interfaces that help users discover and access distributed, governed data.

The Data Mesh Environment supports governed discovery, access, and interoperability across distributed Department of the Air Force data products. The work includes identity and access management, enterprise metadata, streaming data pipelines, secure integrations, and automated Zero Trust policy enforcement. The team will design architecture, prototype core capabilities, and sustain the platform in support of the Cloud One mission.

Technical Design and Architecture

Define and maintain technical standards, architecture guidance, and deployment practices that support consistency, scalability, security, and maintainability.

Partner with UX designers, product managers, and stakeholders to translate business needs and Figma designs into technical specifications, architecture diagrams, data models, and API specifications.

Evaluate relevant technologies and engineering tools, including AI-assisted tools where appropriate, and recommend improvements to system performance and delivery practices.

Full Stack Delivery

Build secure, high-performance backend services and intuitive, responsive user interfaces for transactional, interactive, or data-intensive applications.

Implement React, Node.js, and Next.js solutions, translating Figma designs into accurate, usable interfaces.

Design and integrate services and API gateways, applying REST and suitable monolithic or microservices patterns in a cloud computing environment.

Support platform capabilities connected to identity and access management, enterprise metadata, distributed data products, and streaming data pipelines.

Engineering Leadership and Collaboration

Review code, troubleshoot complex problems across the stack, and improve quality, security, and engineering practices.

Mentor junior engineers and share practical standards that support continuous learning.

Participate in design reviews, critiques, and planning discussions with UX, product, engineering, and mission stakeholders.

Explain architecture and technical decisions clearly to both technical and nontechnical audiences.

• At least eight years of practical software development experience with deep technical expertise and successful delivery of complex applications.
• Experience with API gateways and cloud-based transactional, interactive, or data-intensive systems.
• Strong understanding of REST, microservices, and monolithic service design patterns.
• Demonstrated proficiency with React, Node.js, and Next.js, including implementation of Figma designs as accurate user interfaces.
• Strong problem-solving, sound judgment about business needs, and effective presentation and interpersonal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or a related discipline; equivalent deep professional experience is fully considered.
• Experience integrating AI or ML models, including large language models, into web applications.
• Experience guiding a team in appropriate use of AI assisted software engineering tools.
• Current Secret security clearance.
