The opportunity.

What you’ll be doing.

We are seeking an experienced Financial Lead in processes and control to help modernise and scale a global finance function operating across a complex, multi-entity, multi-jurisdiction environment.

Reporting to the VP Finance, you will lead initiatives that improve the effectiveness, efficiency and scalability of Finance through process redesign, technology enablement, data governance and operational excellence.

This role sits at the intersection of finance operations, systems, data and business performance. You will be responsible for transforming core finance processes, improving controls, implementing enabling technologies and ensuring that transformation initiatives deliver measurable and sustainable business value.

Unlike a traditional programme management role, success will not be measured solely by project delivery. You will be expected to challenge assumptions, validate outcomes and ensure that process and system changes translate into tangible improvements in close efficiency, reporting quality, control effectiveness and decision-making.

You will play a key role in consolidating information from a diverse systems landscape, improving data quality and governance, and helping establish a single source of truth for financial and operational reporting.

What you’ll bring.

Finance Process Transformation & Operational Excellence

• Assist in the design and implementation of the Finance Target Operating Model (TOM), covering processes, systems and data, providing input and recommendations to support the overall TOM design.

• Develop and maintain a transformation roadmap aligned to business objectives, operational efficiency, governance requirements and future compliance needs, including SOX readiness.

• Analyse and redesign finance processes to improve productivity, control effectiveness and user experience.

• Identify control gaps, operational risks and process inefficiencies, developing practical and prioritised remediation plans.

• Establish robust data governance, validation and reporting frameworks to improve the quality, consistency and reliability of financial information.

• Map and optimise end-to-end transaction flows across multiple systems and data sources.

• Support the creation of scalable reporting and analytics capabilities that provide meaningful operational and financial insight.

Finance Systems & Automation

• Lead finance systems and automation projects from initial requirements through to implementation and post-go-live stabilisation.

• Partner with Finance and Technology teams to evaluate, select and implement solutions that support future-state finance operations.

• Drive automation opportunities across close processes, journal management, reconciliations, variance analysis and reporting.

• Ensure data integrity, auditability and control considerations are embedded within all system and process changes.

• Establish governance standards for financial data, system ownership and ongoing process maintenance.

Programme Delivery & Change Management

• Apply disciplined project and programme management practices including planning, risk management, benefits tracking, stakeholder communication and delivery governance.

• Define success measures and ensure transformation benefits are tracked, validated and sustained over time.

• Build engagement and buy-in across the finance organisation by clearly communicating objectives, priorities and expected outcomes.

• Support teams through process, technology and organisational change, ensuring successful adoption of new ways of working.

• Translate complex finance, operational and technology challenges into clear and actionable implementation plans.

Leadership & Stakeholder Management

• Partner with senior stakeholders across Finance, Technology, Legal, Operations and commercial functions to align transformation priorities with wider business objectives.

• Act as a trusted advisor on finance process, controls, systems and operating model design.

• Work alongside finance teams to resolve complex operational challenges, improve processes and implement best practices.

• Provide regular reporting to senior leadership on programme progress, risks, benefits realisation and key transformation milestones.

• Promote a culture of continuous improvement, accountability and operational excellence across the finance function.

Experience & Qualifications

Essential.

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, ICAS, or equivalent).

• Proven experience operating at Head of Finance / Financial Controller level, with broad oversight of the full accounting cycle (AP through to management accounts).

• Demonstrated experience with multi-GAAP statutory accounting across multiple entities/jurisdictions.

• Deep understanding of controllership processes: financial close cycles, account reconciliation, consolidation, intercompany accounting, journal entry management, and statutory reporting.

• Track record of successfully leading financial systems/process implementation projects (e.g. ERP implementation, close process redesign, close automation tooling).

• Demonstrated ability to design and implement future-state close operating models covering process, automation, controls, data, and people.

• Strong project management skills and experience, ideally with formal methodology exposure (e.g. Agile, Prince2, or similar).

• Experience leading teams through significant change, with a genuine ability to bring people along on the journey.

• Comfortable being hands-on and detail-oriented while also operating strategically.

Desirable.

• Hands-on implementation or advisory experience with one or more close automation or EPM platforms (e.g. FloQast, BlackLine, OneStream, Prophix, or comparable).

• Experience in a fast-growing, multi-entity, international business (SaaS/technology sector a plus).

• Experience with modern finance/ERP systems (e.g. NetSuite, Workday, SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics) and reporting/automation tools.

• Familiarity with the intersection between close quality, internal controls, and external audit.

• Prior experience partnering with Legal, HR, and commercial teams on cross-functional finance matters.

• PMP / PRINCE2 / Agile certification, or a Lean Six Sigma qualification.
