Workday Extend Developer

• Design and develop high-performance custom applications using the Workday Extend framework, Page Builder, and the App Components library.
  
• Build custom database structures, configuring custom data objects, fields, and relationships within the Workday environment while maintaining data consistency.
  
• Orchestrate advanced orchestration lines, defining system workflows, task triggers, error-handling exception loops, and automated background data processing tasks.
  
• Expose and consume programmatic endpoints, constructing custom data serialization loops using Workday REST APIs, external APIs, and the WQL (Workday Query Language) framework.
  
• Configure custom security permissions, establishing secure application execution rules, identity authorization loops, and structural access controls in alignment with domain security governance.
  
• Perform database optimization code remediation, auditing application telemetry, tracking system processing latencies, and fixing interface components to ensure optimal page rendering.
  
• Lead update regression validations for semi-annual platform releases, checking custom application code paths across developer sandboxes to prevent operational disruption.
  

Requirements

• 4 to 8 years of core enterprise application engineering or full-stack web development experience, with 2+ dedicated years actively designing, building, and maintaining custom apps explicitly on the Workday Extend framework.
  
• Strong technical mastery of JavaScript (ES6+), JSON schemas, RESTful API structures, and structural data query tools (WQL).
  
• Deep structural understanding of the Workday presentation layer architecture, object relationship conventions, security model boundaries, and development lifecycles.
  
• Mandatory certification: Workday Certified Extend Developer.
  

• Workday Certified Integration Studio or Workday Certified Core HCM certification.
  
• Prior experience implementing Model Context Protocol (MCP) or connecting custom Extend app layouts with real-time enterprise generative AI services.
