Laboratory Supervisor

Anton Paar, one of the world leaders in laboratory instrumentation and services, has a new vacancy for a Laboratory Supervisor based at our Luton facility. The Laboratory Supervisor will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the demonstration laboratory, ensuring it remains safe, organised and ready to support customer demonstrations, training and internal testing. A key part of the role will be ensuring that our demonstration instruments are maintained to a high standard and readily available to support the sales teams and wider organisation. The successful candidate will help create a professional, customer-ready laboratory environment that showcases Anton Paar instrumentation at its best.

Job Description

• Take responsibility for the day-to-day operation and organisation of the demonstration laboratory
• Ensure laboratory activities are carried out safely and in accordance with relevant Health & Safety requirements, including COSHH and risk assessments.
• Maintain and develop laboratory safety procedures, SOPs and associated documentation.
• Manage the demonstration instrument inventory, ensuring equipment is available, operational and maintained to the required standard.
• Support the installation, configuration and movement of demonstration equipment.
• Manage laboratory consumables, chemical inventory, samples, gases, accessories and other essential supplies.
• Support customer events, open days, product launches and other marketing activities held within the laboratory.
• Become a member of the company fire marshal and first aider team (training provided)

Qualifications

• A good understanding of laboratory Health & Safety requirements, including COSHH and risk assessments.
• Previous experience working within a laboratory, technical or scientific environment. Working with analytical or laboratory instrumentation would be advantageous
• High attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of safety, quality and presentation.
• A practical, hands-on and proactive approach to problem solving.
• Self-motivated, enthusiastic, can-do attitude, able to work under own initiative
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Located within easy access to the Luton office.
