See Yourself at Telix

Telix Pharmaceuticals is a dynamic, fast-growing radiopharmaceutical company with offices in Australia (HQ), Belgium, Japan, Switzerland, and the United States. Our mission is to deliver on the promise of precision medicine through targeted radiation. At our core, we exist to create products that seek to improve the quality of life for people living with cancer and rare diseases. You will be supporting the international roll-out of our approved prostate cancer imaging agent and helping us to advance our portfolio of late clinical-stage products that address significant unmet need in oncology and rare diseases.

The Assistant Director, Legal Transformation & Enablement leads Telix's legal operations, technology enablement, process optimization, and contracting infrastructure function. This role serves as the strategic bridge between Telix Legal & Compliance and enterprise functions — translating legal and business requirements into scalable systems, workflows, and data-driven processes that enable the department to operate at scale while reducing reliance on external counsel. The role combines hands-on commercial contracts and procurement legal competency with structured legal transformation leadership, including direct ownership of legal technology platform architecture and integrations (Contract Lifecycle Management, e-billing, artificial intelligence tools), process-improvement methodology, vendor management, change management, and departmental metrics/key performance indicator reporting. The role manages the Legal Operations Specialist, United States and is central to the legal function's insourcing thesis (targeting 15-25% outside counsel spend reduction funded through productivity gains and artificial intelligence-enabled efficiency). This job description incorporates enhancements informed by benchmarking against comparable legal transformation and enablement leadership roles at other companies.

This role is the legal function’s transformation lead: part lawyer or legal-operations expert, part systems architect, part change leader. It owns the operating model that allows a lean global legal department to scale, reduce external counsel reliance, and improve business-partner experience.

We are a dynamic, fast-growing biopharmaceutical company where everyone counts. In addition to competitive salaries, we offer health and wellbeing incentives, bonus incentives, and support for learning and development. You will be part of an engaged and supportive group of colleagues who all have a shared purpose: to help people with cancer and rare diseases live longer, better quality lives.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Own the legal front door, intake/routing, matter management, contract playbooks, template libraries, knowledge management, and business self-service tools for the Legal & Compliance function.
  • Lead AI-enabled legal workflows and agent design and management, approved prompt libraries, and artificial intelligence-assisted contract review/drafting with appropriate human oversight and privacy/security controls; proactively identify, test, and deploy new artificial intelligence capabilities to streamline legal operations.
  • Partner with Information Technology and enterprise technology teams to translate legal operations requirements into system specifications, user stories, workflows, and integration requirements for Contract Lifecycle Management and adjacent legal technology platforms (e.g., e-billing, matter management, CRM/enterprise resource planning integrations).
  • Collaborate with Information Technology and vendors through the full technology delivery lifecycle — requirements gathering, design, testing/user acceptance testing, and production rollout — ensuring legal technology solutions are delivered on time, within budget, and aligned with legal, risk, and governance standards.
  • Own and mature the department's legal operations metrics and key performance indicator reporting, including contract cycle-time, outside-counsel spend visibility, contracting throughput, self-service adoption, and legal department satisfaction metrics, to inform continuous improvement decisions and report results to the Group General Counsel.
  • Implement and manage e-billing, matter taxonomy, outside counsel guidelines, spend reporting, and budget forecasting for legal technology and enablement initiatives to drive measurable outside counsel spend reduction.
  • Lead structured change management and organizational adoption programs for new legal processes and technology — including communications planning, targeted training, stakeholder feedback loops, and adoption tracking — to ensure sustained utilization across the legal function and business partner community.
  • Build and maintain scalable contracting infrastructure: playbooks, escalation matrices, fallback positions, and legal front-door processes for high-volume commercial and procurement contracting; apply structured process-improvement methodology to identify and eliminate inefficiencies.
  • Manage vendor relationships and budgets for legal technology and enablement tools, including Contract Lifecycle Management, e-billing, artificial intelligence platforms, and related services; develop business cases and return-on-investment models for technology investments proportionate to Telix's lean, cost-disciplined legal function.
  • Manage and develop the Legal Operations Specialist, United States, and coordinate with the Legal Governance & Operations Specialist, Australia (reporting to Patent & Legal Enablement Manager) on cross-functional legal operations.
  • Partner with Procurement, Information Technology, Finance, Commercial Operations, and business stakeholders to improve contracting throughput, cycle-time, and governance.
  • Work closely with Finance and Group General Counsel to maintain legal budget including strong metrics, financial discipline and forecasting.
  • Support contract negotiation and commercial contracting for procurement and operational matters as needed, maintaining practitioner-level legal skills alongside operational leadership to preserve credibility as a subject-matter resource for the legal team.
  • Own the legal enablement strategy, including playbooks, templates, intake/routing, knowledge management, systems administration, self-service tools, and cross-functional process improvement.
  • Define adoption benchmarks, stakeholder feedback loops, and change-management plans

Position Requirements

Education and Experience:

  • 8+ years of combined legal practice and/or legal operations leadership experience; strong legal process and technology experience required.
  • Prior in-house experience at a pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, or healthcare company strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience with Contract Lifecycle Management platform architecture and integrations with enterprise systems (e.g., CRM/Salesforce-type platforms, enterprise resource planning, e-billing, matter management); hands-on configuration or implementation experience with at least one Contract Lifecycle Management platform preferred.
  • Experience collaborating with Information Technology teams through the full software/technology development lifecycle (requirements, design, user acceptance testing, production rollout) for legal technology solutions.
  • Demonstrated experience with e-billing systems, AI/legal technology tools, Microsoft 365/SharePoint, and process/change management.
  • People management experience required; project management certification (PMP, Agile/Scrum) or experience a plus.
  • Some direct experience negotiating or reviewing enterprise-level commercial agreements preferred, to maintain credibility as a subject-matter resource for the legal team; however, this is secondary to the role's primary transformation and enablement mandate.
  • Budget/forecasting experience for technology or operations initiatives preferred, including ability to articulate financial impact of process and technology investments.

Key Capabilities:

  • Commitment to excellence: Take pride in your work and consistently strive for excellence in everything you do
  • Results-oriented: Driven to achieve goals and objectives, with a strong focus on delivering measurable results
  • Creativity and innovation: Possess a willingness to think outside the box and come up with unique and creative solutions to challenges
  • Strong communication skills: Able to communicate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels, using clear and concise language
  • Collaboration: Work effectively as part of a team, actively sharing knowledge and expertise to achieve common goals
  • Resilience: Demonstrate the ability to bounce back from setbacks and persevere in the face of challenges
  • Inclusive mindset: Demonstrate an understanding and appreciation for diversity, and actively work to create an inclusive environment where everyone feels valued and respected
  • Adaptability: Comfortable working in a dynamic environment, able to adjust to changing priorities, and willing to take on new challenges
  • Ethical behavior: Act with integrity and demonstrate a commitment to ethical behavior in all interactions with colleagues and stakeholders
  • Continuous learning: Show a commitment to ongoing learning and professional development, continually seeking out opportunities to expand your knowledge and skills

At Telix, we believe everyone counts, we strive to be extraordinary, and we pursue our goals with determination and integrity. You will be part of an engaged and supportive group of colleagues who all have a shared purpose: to help people with cancer and rare diseases live longer, better quality lives. Being a Telix employee means being a part of a unique, global, interdisciplinary team working to deliver what's next in precision medicine. We have hybrid and remote employees located all around the world. We offer competitive salaries, annual performance-based bonuses, an equity-based incentive program, generous vacation, paid wellness days and support for learning and development.
