Job description

Your mission

Servus und hallo bei uns hier in Sungrow! We are on a mission to power the future with clean energy - and making sure we do so responsibly, ethically, and in full compliance with the evolving regulatory landscape is at the very heart of what we do. We're thrilled to introduce a role that sits right at the intersection of environmental sustainability and corporate integrity: the ESG & Compliance Specialist - Europe. Curious what this is all about? Let's dive right in:

  • You will monitor, analyze, and interpret ESG-related regulatory requirements and environmental legislation applicable to our products and operations - including the EU Battery Regulation, WEEE Directive, PPWR, F-Gas Regulation, CBAM, and other sustainability-driven frameworks.
  • You will coordinate and support Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) obligations, covering registrations, reporting, audits, and engagement with producer responsibility organizations and regulatory authorities.
  • You will assess emerging regulatory developments and translate complex legal requirements into clear, practical business actions and compliance measures.
  • You will provide regulatory guidance to internal stakeholders on environmental compliance obligations and sustainability-related product requirements across European entities.
  • You will support the implementation and continuous improvement of our corporate compliance framework, including training programs, risk assessments, and internal investigations.
  • You will conduct compliance due diligence on third parties - including distributors, suppliers, and agents - to identify and mitigate legal, regulatory, or reputational risks.

Your profile

All right, all right - that was quite the mission, wasn't it? Now, to truly thrive in this role and grow with us for a long time, your ideal background should look a lot like this:

  • You hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Law, Environmental Science, Sustainability, Environmental Policy, Business Compliance, or a related field.
  • You bring approximately 2+ years of professional experience in ESG compliance, environmental compliance, sustainability, product compliance, regulatory affairs, or supply chain due diligence.
  • You have hands-on experience interpreting and applying EU product compliance regulations - particularly the Battery Regulation, WEEE, Packaging, F-Gas, CBAM, or similar environmental legislation.
  • You are familiar with Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) schemes and environmental compliance obligations within the EU.
  • You possess strong analytical skills and the ability to translate regulatory texts into practical, actionable business guidance.
  • You demonstrate excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across functions and regions.
  • Business fluent English (C1/C2) is required; proficiency in additional European languages (especially German or Polish) or Mandarin is a strong advantage.
  • You exhibit high integrity, strong professional ethics, and a pragmatic, solution-oriented mindset in a fast-paced international environment.

Why us?

Our Compliance team is the bedrock of our ethical operations, guiding Sungrow's rapid expansion in the European renewable energy market. We are a dynamic, purpose-driven team dedicated to fostering a compliant and sustainable business environment. In this role, you will be instrumental in navigating complex regulatory landscapes - ensuring our cutting-edge inverter, energy storage, and EV charging solutions continue to power Europe responsibly. We champion professional growth, offer a collaborative international workplace, and give you the opportunity to make a real impact on a cleaner, greener future - right from our European hub in Munich.
