Job description

About Orchestry

Orchestry is a pioneering SaaS company in the Microsoft 365 ecosystem, helping organizations simplify, govern, and get more value from their collaboration tools. Our platform empowers IT and business users alike through intelligent automation, governance, and user-friendly design.

We are a remote-first team of smart, kind, low-ego people who take ownership of their work and care about building something that matters. There is plenty of flexibility in how you work, but just as much accountability for what you deliver.

We're growing fast and scaling globally, and we're looking for a Senior Software Developer to design, build, and scale the infrastructure behind a new deployment model for our platform, built for customers who need to run our software within their own environments.

About the role

As a Senior Software Developer, you'll design, build, and scale the infrastructure behind a new deployment model for Orchestry's platform, built for customers who need to run our software within their own environments. You'll own features end to end, from architecture and technical design through implementation, testing, and deployment, using modern .NET technologies. You'll shape system architecture, mentor other engineers, and work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver secure and reliable software. If you enjoy solving hard technical problems and want a real say in the direction of a system you help build, this role gives you that.

What you'll do

  • Design and build performant, secure, and scalable systems using .NET and modern infrastructure tooling, purpose-built for customer-managed environments.
  • Lead the end-to-end development of features and services for a new deployment model, from architecture and technical design through implementation, testing, and deployment.
  • Apply strong systems thinking to design architectures that are robust, maintainable, and aligned with business goals, with particular attention to packaging, configuration, licensing, and upgrade and versioning strategies for software run outside our own cloud environment.
  • Identify and address performance bottlenecks using asynchronous programming, parallel processing, and profiling tools.
  • Implement and maintain RESTful APIs, integrations, and data-access layers using C#, ASP.NET Core, Web API, and Entity Framework.
  • Ensure security, data protection, and compliance throughout all development activities, consistent with SOC 2, GDPR, and ISO principles.
  • Contribute to the architecture and infrastructure of new features and systems, anticipating edge cases and guiding technical tradeoffs.
  • Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and design documentation to uphold high technical standards across the team.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Product Management, Security, DevOps, and Support to clarify scope, shape features, and ensure smooth, supportable releases.
  • Drive continuous improvement in performance, maintainability, and observability within your area of ownership.
  • Mentor other engineers and help build a culture of technical excellence.
  • Stay current with evolving .NET, Azure, and infrastructure and deployment trends, and recommend tools and practices that improve engineering outcomes.
  • Document and communicate complex technical concepts clearly in code, design documents, and discussions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Experience developing cloud native applications.
  • 8+ years of professional software development experience with C# and .NET framework.
  • A track record of leading architecture and technical decisions, not just implementing someone else's design.
  • Solid understanding of database technologies such as SQL, relational database schema design, and NoSQL databases.
  • Experience automating and troubleshooting application deployments using CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience with ASP.NET Core and Entity Framework. Experience with containerization and deployment tooling (Docker, Kubernetes, installers) for customer-managed environments is a strong plus.
  • Bonus points for experience with self-hosted, on-premises, or enterprise-deployed software, as opposed to purely SaaS or cloud-only products.
  • Self-efficacy: able to set goals, manage time effectively, and stay accountable in a flexible, remote-first environment.
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, async-native, remote-first working style.

Why Orchestry?

  • Work that matters: Join a growing, remote-first SaaS company solving real problems for organizations navigating the complexity of Microsoft 365.
  • Real ownership: Build and scale the revenue operations discipline from the ground up.
  • Flexibility with accountability: We trust people to work in the way that works best for them while staying accountable for meaningful outcomes.
  • A smart, kind, no-ego team: People show up, work across departments, and care more about getting to the right answer than being the person who had it first.
  • Competitive compensation, equity, and benefits.
