Position: Fire & Life Safety Reviewer — Vulcan
Type: Contract
Compensation: $45–$60/hour
Location: Remote

Role Responsibilities

• Develop evaluation tasks from real fire and life safety review work, including egress and life safety plan checks.
• Author tasks and correct answers for fire access plan reviews, fire alarm reviews, and sprinkler reviews.
• Review hazardous materials control areas and conduct fire occupancy video inspections.
• Verify firestop penetration photos and review fire system inspection, testing, and maintenance reports.
• Collaborate with a second reviewer to ensure accuracy and consistency across tasks.

Qualifications

Must-Have

• 3+ years in fire and life safety design review roles.
• NICET Level III or higher, or PE in fire protection.
• Experience working to IBC, IFC, and NFPA standards.
• Ability to mark up plan sets and read hydraulic calculations and device layouts.

Preferred

• 8+ years of experience in fire and life safety review.
• Experience training junior inspectors or reviewers.
• Familiarity with multiple NFPA editions and their applications.
