Job description

Account Coordinator

We are seeking an Account Coordinator to take the lead on maintaining, nurturing, and expanding Wildsam's network of approximately 2,000 independent retail partners, including brick-and-mortar bookstores, outdoor shops, specialty gift boutiques, and non-profits across the country. In addition to managing wholesale partnerships and high-profile brand collaborations (e.g., Anthropologie, L.L. Bean, Opinel), this role drives direct-to-consumer (DTC) digital sales strategy and oversees end-to-end fulfillment logistics.

The ideal candidate blends high-level strategic thinking with meticulous, hands-on operational execution, serving as a key bridge between our editorial, sales, creative, and fulfillment partners.

Responsibilities

Strategic Planning & Collaboration

  • Stay up to date on market trends, consumer preferences, and competitor activities in both the wholesale and DTC space to inform strategic decisions.

  • Plan the launch strategies for new Wildsam titles and collaborate with the operational and creative teams on the ongoing marketing of all 70+ titles to both wholesale and DTC markets.

  • Expand the Wildsam wholesale network, leveraging our brand and content.

  • Drive the achievement of sales targets across both wholesale and DTC channels, providing ongoing analysis and insights to ensure sustainable growth.

Wholesale Account Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing wholesale accounts, including independent bookstores, outdoors shops, specialty gift, across the United States.

  • Own the end-to-end wholesale order lifecycle, establishing new protocols to elevate customer experience and fulfillment accuracy.

  • Track sales performance and provide regular reporting on account performance, including key metrics such as sales trends, order frequency, inventory levels, and new account acquisition.

Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) Sales Management

  • Oversee Wildsam's DTC channel, specifically our website, email channels, and brand partner strategies. Increase online sales, improve conversion rates, and optimize customer experiences.

  • Direct DTC marketing strategies, campaigns, and channel investments to maximize engagement and conversion.

  • Forecast monthly and annual sales targets for the DTC channel and provide regular reports on performance.

Operational Efficiency

  • Lead and optimize logistics and inventory strategy to ensure smooth order fulfillment for both wholesale and DTC channels, managing stock levels and reordering.

  • Identify areas for operational improvement in order management, account management, and customer service to enhance efficiency and customer satisfaction.

  • Coordinate with logistics and inventory teams to ensure smooth order fulfillment for both wholesale and DTC channels.

Required Competencies & Experience

  • Experience managing and growing a large retail partner network (~2,000 accounts), building relationships with independent bookstores/specialty retailers, and liaising with major brand and sponsorship partners.

  • Background in driving website sales, optimizing conversion funnels, managing email/social marketing collaborations, and setting DTC sales targets.

  • Hands-on knowledge of order management lifecycles, stock level management, forecasting, inventory reordering, and external 3PL/fulfillment vendor management.

  • Proficiency in tracking sales KPIs, order frequency, acquisition metrics, inventory turnover, and channel performance reporting.

  • Deep alignment with culture, travel, and book publishing; passion for independent retail ecosystems.

What A Successful Profile Looks Like

  • Ability to independently craft launch strategies for 70+ book titles while executing daily fulfillment workflows.

  • Comfort interfacing directly with senior leadership across creative, editorial, marketing, and operations.

  • Capacity to manage back-end logistics and customer service workflows without letting operational quality slip.
