Job description

Overview:

A warm, easygoing family in Rye, NY is seeking an experienced, energetic, and nurturing full-time nanny for their three children: a 4-year-old boy, 2-year-old girl, and 5-month-old baby. The two older children attend school during the day, while the baby is home full-time. The nanny will primarily focus on the baby during the mornings before transitioning to care for all three children in the afternoons.

Their oldest son is an active, bright, and high-energy 4-year-old who loves soccer, lacrosse, hockey, puzzles, reading, and word games. He does best when he is physically and mentally engaged and needs a nanny who genuinely enjoys getting outside, playing, and keeping up with an energetic preschooler.

Their 2-year-old daughter, is confident, verbal, and strong-willed. She enjoys reading, coloring, and soccer and tends to have a calmer temperament than her older brother.

Their youngest, is a happy and easygoing 5-month-old. She is an independent sleeper with an established nap schedule and is beginning to work on developmental milestones such as assisted sitting.

A typical day will begin with helping get all three children out the door and dropping the older two at school. The nanny will then return home with the baby and have time during her morning nap to assist with children's meal preparation and household tasks. The nanny will pick up the 2 yr old at 11:45am, then will do lunch and naps with the two girls, until the 4 year old comes home. Afternoons may include scheduled activities, playdates, trips to the park or library, or time playing at home. The family has a yard, a spacious basement play area, and lives next door to a park.

The family is looking for someone who is confident managing three young children and can stay calm and composed in a busy household. Their ideal nanny is warm, kind, empathetic, energetic, and able to set appropriate boundaries without being overly strict or raising their voice. They follow a gentle approach with clear boundaries and would love someone who can balance warmth with confident discipline. A sense of humor and the ability to roll with the natural chaos of three young children will be important.

Both parents work, with Mom working from home some days. Dad works in NYC five days per week. The family is casual and collaborative and is looking for a proactive nanny who can independently manage the children's schedules, arrange playdates, and plan activities without requiring significant oversight.
