Sur La Table

Retail – Furniture & Home Furnishings

Sur La Table was founded in Seattle in 1972 by Shirley Collins, a woman with a passion for food and a fondness for community. Living in Seattle, she fell in love with Pike Place Market with its inspiring blend of products, artisans, and farmers. To her, it was a special gathering place for food lovers and culinary visionaries alike. When Shirley opened her first store in Pike Place Market, she was determined to assemble the best selection of cookware, gadgets, linens and books—even importing exclusive specialty items from France, her favorite culinary destination. Using the market as her inspiration, she thoughtfully filled her store with cooking tools that would bring people together in the kitchen and around the table. This sense of connection and love of French cuisine inspired the name Sur La Table, which simply means “on the table.” Since then we’ve grown to 56 stores across America, with the largest avocational cooking program in the U.S. But some things haven’t changed: We’re still the place for an unsurpassed selection of exclusive and premium-quality goods for the kitchen and table. We’re still passionate about cooking and entertaining, eager to share all we know. Whether the job entails interacting with our customers on a daily basis or providing the vital behind-the-scenes support, we’re all here for the same reason – to create happiness through cooking and sharing good food.

Job description

We spotlight employee stories, celebrate milestones, and offer exclusive outdoor perks. Whether you are at HQ, in a retail store, or remote, you will be part of a team that thrives on energy, exploration, and connection.

Reports to: Head of Group Sales

Location: Remote (US or Canada)

About the Role

Backcountry Group Sales connects our brands to the business community, serving corporate, medical, university, military, construction, hospitality, and other industry groups. This B2B program is growing and needs a driven, outbound-focused rep to build pipeline and fuel that growth.

As Sales Development Representative, Group Sales, you will own the top of the funnel — prospecting, outreach, and qualification — running outbound campaigns across email, phone, and LinkedIn to identify and engage prospective group accounts. This role is a proven path into Account Management: reps who master outbound prospecting and consistently deliver qualified pipeline are the first considered as Account Manager openings come up.

This is a lean team. You will own a lot, move fast, and make decisions with full end-to-end responsibility.

What You'll Do
  • Generate pipeline through outbound email, phone outreach, and LinkedIn prospecting into target verticals such as military, construction, hospitality, and enterprise accounts
  • Build and run repeatable outbound campaigns — sequences, messaging, and cadences — to consistently fill the top of the funnel
  • Qualify inbound and outbound leads by understanding the prospect's needs and buying process
  • Hand off qualified opportunities to an Account Manager with clean, complete context for a smooth close
  • Meet or exceed monthly and quarterly pipeline and activity targets
  • Build and maintain accurate records of all prospects and outreach activity in the CRM (Pipedrive)
  • Use tools like Apollo, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, and NetSuite to research, prospect, and track accounts
  • Participate in ongoing procedural and sales training sessions to sharpen outbound skills and stay current on product knowledge
  • Represent Backcountry values in every prospect interaction and internal handoff

  • Required Qualifications
  • A minimum of 1 year of outbound selling experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Comfort making high volumes of outbound calls and emails, and staying motivated through repetitive prospecting work
  • Creativity in how you approach outreach — you don't rely on the same script
  • General understanding of B2B buying processes and outbound principles
  • Comfort with CRM and sales tech (Pipedrive, Apollo, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, or similar)
  • Coachable — open to feedback and eager to improve
  • Flexible across time zones — this role can be worked from any US or Canadian time zone

  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in B2B, group, or corporate sales
  • ABM or lead generation experience
  • Experience with a sales methodology (Sandler, MEDDIC, SPIN, GAP)
  • Background in tech or outdoor industries
  • Interest in growing into an Account Manager role over time

  • Why Join
