Job description

About bunny.net

Some people accept the internet as it is. We see what it could be.

At bunny.net, we don’t wait for change. We make it happen. You won’t find layers of red tape or play-it-safe thinking here. You’ll find people who move quickly, take ownership, and push ideas all the way to the edge. Literally.

You’ll build things that solve actual problems, not add to them.

We’re not perfect, and we don’t pretend to be. But we’re always improving. We’re looking for people who want to do the same, who take pride in their work, and aren’t afraid to challenge what’s possible.

Because everyone deserves a better internet. And we’re here to help it hop faster.

Senior Engineering Manager

Making the internet hop faster takes great teams, clear direction, and leaders who know when to challenge, when to support, and when to get out of the way.

That’s where you come in.

You’ll lead three areas shaping how we build and deliver a better internet:

  • Storage: with S3 now part of the platform, new use cases are opening up. You’ll help us capture that opportunity while evolving Storage to be more distributed and resilient at scale.

  • Stream: already a successful and strong revenue-generating product with plenty of room to grow. Stream relies heavily on Storage to store and serve video, so you’ll help both teams make smart decisions across architecture, scale, and growth.

  • Frontend: where our products come together for customers. You’ll help shape what using bunny.net feels like, while building reusable foundations that let teams ship polished experiences faster.

You’ll lead through engineering leads, but you won’t lead from the sidelines. You’ll stay close enough to the technology, products, and people to ask the right questions, unblock hard decisions, and help teams do their best work.

There’s a lot to own, a lot to improve, and plenty we haven’t imagined yet. If that sounds exciting, we’d love to build it with you.

What will you do?

  • Set the direction for Storage, Stream, and Frontend: what we build, why it matters, and what success looks like for the business

  • Lead and grow the teams across all three areas, with responsibility for both product and engineering, as our products and ambitions grow

  • Coach and grow engineering leads, and help more people step into bigger ownership

  • Go deep when it matters, helping teams work through tough architecture decisions and technical trade-offs

  • Keep the engineering bar high across reliability, scalability, security, and production operations within your teams, and help raise standards across engineering

  • Build planning and delivery habits that help teams ship fast without burning out or getting lost in the process

  • Be the go-to engineering voice for your teams, partnering with Growth, Support, senior leadership, and other engineering teams to turn customer needs into clear priorities

  • Step in on the hardest moments (tradeoffs, incidents, strategy shifts) and bring clarity when things get messy

  • Know what’s working and what isn’t, using data and customer insights to guide priorities, engineering decisions, and growth

  • Use AI thoughtfully to help you and your teams move faster and do better work, while keeping judgment and ownership firmly with people

What will you bring?

  • Experience owning one or more products end-to-end, leading product and engineering from customer discovery and strategy through delivery, adoption, and growth

  • Experience leading multiple teams, while staying close enough to guide priorities and unblock hard decisions

  • Background in storage, streaming, CDN/edge, or developer platforms (or strong adjacent experience with the curiosity to go deep fast)

  • Strong technical judgment across distributed systems, architecture, and trade-offs

  • A knack for connecting engineering decisions to customer value, and thinking beyond shipping to adoption and growth

  • A developer experience mindset, with examples of improving tooling, platforms, or workflows

  • The ability to set a clear vision and bring people with you, making complex things simple and going deep when the conversation calls for it

  • A track record of giving clear feedback, setting high standards, and helping people grow into bigger ownership

  • Comfort moving without a playbook, getting to the root of problems, and making things happen

What will make us extra happy?

  • You’ve taken a product or platform from idea to launch and beyond, and know what it takes to turn something people build into something customers actually use

  • You’re metrics-aware and pragmatic: you measure what matters, and you don’t confuse dashboards with progress

  • You bring entrepreneurial energy, spot opportunities others might miss, and aren't afraid to try something new

Where should you be located?

Europe, ideally within CET ±3 hours so collaboration with the team feels natural rather than scheduled.
