Job description

This is a remote position.

The opportunity

Our client is looking for a Senior Product Engineer to own the first production inventory experience for its AI security platform. You will turn complex scan and usage data into clear, trustworthy interfaces so a security team can quickly see which prompts, skills, MCP servers and related artifacts are in use, who or what ran them, and what needs attention.

About Our client

Our client scans and inventories the AI artifacts that people and AI agents install, including prompts, skills, MCP servers, hooks, rules files and IDE extensions. Its platform helps security teams understand what is in their environment, make defensible security decisions and block or remove unsafe artifacts before they cause harm. The product is live with early external users, and its engineering and research teams are advancing AI supply chain security.

What you will do

•  Lead the initial four-week project to ship an inventory table and artifact-detail experience to production, using the client’s shared score vocabulary.

•  Build frontend-heavy, data-dense workflows including large tables, filtering, paging and UI state that stays accurate as data changes.

•  Work across the stack in TypeScript, React and Next.js, contributing to server-side functionality in Node.js, Postgres, REST APIs and background jobs as needed.

•  Partner closely with the CTO, engineering leadership and design to turn security requirements into focused, usable product decisions.

•  Contribute thoughtful, timely code reviews and help maintain a high quality bar across the platform.

•  Potentially continue into cross-source artifact deduplication, skill-level reporting, knowledge graph and reporting features.

Requirements

What you bring

•  Three or more years building production web applications.

•  Deep experience with TypeScript and React, ideally in Next.js.

•  Comfort working on the server side with Node.js, Postgres, an ORM and REST APIs.

•  Strong experience designing and building data-heavy interfaces, especially large datasets, filtering, paging and resilient state management.

•  A track record of reviewing other engineers’ code constructively and efficiently.

•  Clear communication and comfort working independently in a remote, fast-moving product team.

Helpful but not essential

•  Experience with security products, developer tools or a findings-based data model.

•  Google Cloud, including Cloud Run, Cloud SQL or Pub/Sub; Auth0; Terraform; or browser extensions.

•  Curiosity about AI agents and AI supply chain security.

Benefits

How the engagement works

The first engagement is a paid, full-time four-week project beginning in October 2026. It is real product work with a clear deliverable and success test, not a take-home assessment.

At the end of the project, Our client and the successful candidate will decide together whether to continue through further projects or an ongoing full-time or part-time role.

You will contract directly with Apricot, which manages contracting, payments and administrative support. Day to day, you will work with Our client and report to the CTO. You will need your own laptop, reliable connectivity, a secure work environment and two-factor authentication where required.

To help us align early, You’ll be asked to share your expected fee for the initial engagement and your preferred ongoing arrangement and compensation expectations (full-time or part-time).
