Job description

Our client is an AI-powered analytics and application platform — described by the company as "the AI runtime for business." Sigma enables organizations to build dashboards, reports, and AI agents directly on their cloud data warehouse, with a warehouse-native architecture that keeps security and governance at the source. Sigma serves more than 2,000 enterprises looking to consolidate their analytics and SaaS tools into a single, governed workspace.

About the Role

This role owns the end-to-end billing and revenue recognition process for closed-won opportunities, including setting up sales orders and subscriptions in NetSuite, establishing billing schedules, invoicing customers, and setting up revenue arrangements so revenue is recognized accurately. The team processes roughly 400–700 invoices a month with a same-day to next-day turnaround standard, working closely with Sales, Collections, and Deal Desk. Candidates will work an assigned queue of orders with clear ownership, reporting directly to our client’s US-based Billing & Revenue Manager for guidance and support.

Key Responsibilities

•            Sales Order & Subscription Setup: Set up new sales orders and subscriptions in NetSuite for closed-won opportunities, based on order forms and corresponding Salesforce data.

•            Billing Schedule Management: Set up and maintain billing schedules in NetSuite (SuiteBilling) in accordance with contract terms, including billing frequency, payment terms, and any special billing arrangements.

•            Invoicing: Generate and issue accurate, timely customer invoices and submit them to customer portals as required, meeting a same-day to next-day turnaround standard.

•            Invoice Review & Quality Control: Review invoices prior to distribution for accuracy — billed amount, billing frequency, payment terms, and sales tax — and flag anomalies for review.

•            Order & PO Review: Review sales orders and customer purchase orders (POs) to confirm billing setup is complete and accurate, including customer information and tax details.

•            Contract Change Coordination: Partner with Sales and Collections to resolve missing or incorrect customer information and to revise invoices and billing schedules when contract terms change.

•            Revenue Recognition Setup: Set up revenue arrangements and revenue plans in NetSuite (Advanced Revenue Management) so revenue is recognized appropriately.

•            Customer Data Maintenance: Maintain accurate, up-to-date customer information — billing contacts, addresses, and tax exemption status — in NetSuite.

•            Queue Ownership: Own an assigned queue of orders and invoices, monitor billing status of closed-won opportunities, and proactively flag delays or blockers to the Revenue Manager.

•            Invoice Inquiries: Serve as a point of contact for customer invoice inquiries routed through the Collections team.

•            Process Documentation: Document and maintain billing and revenue setup processes and procedures.

•            Non-Trade Receivables: Issue non-trade receivables, such as partner invoices, coordinating with the Marketing team to obtain proper documentation and support.

•            Audit Support: Support internal and external audit requests by providing billing and revenue documentation as needed.

•            Ad Hoc Support: Respond to ad hoc requests related to billing, revenue, and the order-to-cash cycle.

Qualifications & Experience

•            Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

•            3+ years of general accounting experience with meaningful exposure to billing and/or revenue accounting — this is a mid-to-senior role. Candidates with 5–10 years of experience will be considered.

•            Hands-on experience with NetSuite strongly preferred; candidates with comparable ERP experience (e.g., Oracle Fusion, SAP) will also be considered.

•            Experience in the SaaS or technology industry strongly preferred — this matters more than deep revenue recognition expertise, which can be trained on the job.

•            Prior experience supporting a US-based client or account, ideally within the last 1.5–2 years.

•            Solid understanding of core accounting and general ledger concepts, including how invoice and revenue transactions flow through the financials.

•            Strong MS Excel skills, including comfort working with and reconciling large datasets.

•            Highly detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to independently manage an assigned workload, prioritize effectively, and meet daily and monthly deadlines.

•            Comfortable working cross-functionally with Sales and Collections teams to resolve order and billing issues.

•            Excellent written and verbal English communication skills; comfortable working directly with a US-based finance team.

•            Nice-to-have: Salesforce experience (reviewing opportunities, orders, and related order-to-cash data), familiarity with US sales tax concepts (e.g., Avalara), exposure to US GAAP or audit support, and a CPA license — none of which are required.
