We are collaborating with a leading banking institution in the search for a Chief Information Officer (CIO) to join its team in Luxembourg.

This is a strategic leadership role for a senior technology executive with extensive experience in financial services. The position reports to the Country General Management team and works closely with senior stakeholders to drive technology strategy, operational excellence and digital transformation initiatives across the organisation.

Your Mission

As CIO, you will be responsible for defining and executing the bank's technology roadmap, ensuring that IT capabilities support business growth, regulatory requirements and operational efficiency within a highly demanding financial environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the technology strategy and digital transformation agenda for the organisation in Luxembourg.

• Oversee IT, operations and technology-related projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives.

• Manage and develop multidisciplinary teams across technology and operational functions.

• Drive the evolution, optimisation and migration of corporate systems and technology platforms.

• Define and monitor technology governance, security and operational resilience frameworks.

• Collaborate with business leaders to identify opportunities for innovation and process improvement.

• Manage relationships with technology partners and vendors, including negotiation of strategic agreements.

• Support business areas linked to financial markets, trading, brokerage, fund distribution and investment services.

• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards applicable to the banking sector.

What We Are Looking For

• More than 20 years of experience in technology leadership roles within banking, financial services or capital markets environments.

• Strong expertise in financial technology and digital transformation programmes.

• Proven experience managing IT and operations teams.

• Deep understanding of securities markets, including equities, fixed income, derivatives and foreign exchange.

• Knowledge of trading, clearing, settlement and custody systems.

• Experience working with fund distribution platforms and regulated financial environments.

• Familiarity with MiFID II and related financial regulations.

• Knowledge of emerging technologies such as blockchain and ESG-related initiatives is highly valued.

• Fluent English and Spanish.

• Residence in Luxembourg or willingness to relocate.
