Compliance Analyst

The Role
Are you a rule follower and an innovator? As a member of Workplace Investing (WI)  Compliance, you can be part of a team of compliance professionals that does both!!

Come be part of a team of compliance professionals helping to invent the future of Fidelity by supporting a wide array of initiatives providing better ways for employers to successfully handle employee benefits, and for customers to handle their financial needs. You will be providing guidance to business partners on the key rules and regulations that must be followed when building innovative solutions for our clients and customers. You will be helping to ensure that the innovative solutions that our business partners build for clients adhere to applicable key rules, regulations, and policies.

This role within WI Compliance works closely with partners in Legal, Risk, Product and other business functions to help ensure that products and services offered by Workplace Investing to employee benefit plans, employers, and customers meet relevant ERISA, DOL, IRS, specific federal, state, and local and other applicable laws, regulations, directives and standards pertaining to Fidelity. In this role you will engage with team members and managers to inform and influence key product and process decisions to help ensure compliance.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent.

  • Experience in employee benefits industry required.

  • Experience in compliance, risk management, and/or financial services is preferred.

  • Knowledge of federal laws, regulations, and agencies governing business lines supported (e.g., ERISA, Department of Labor, Internal Revenue Service) is strong.

  • Ability to apply critical thinking to understand, interpret and apply regulatory and legal requirements.

  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills, including ability to collaborate across the organization, with peers and management, to deliver results.

  • Strong verbal and written communications skills - ability to present ideas and complex information clearly and effectively through multiple channels.

  • A proven track record to identify, analyze and resolve problems independently, and call out matters when appropriate.

  • Detail oriented and well organized to effectively prioritize your work queue and meet timelines.

  • Enjoys reading and understanding business communications, policies and regulations.

  • Microsoft Office suite of applications, including SharePoint, are some of the many tools in your toolbox. 

  • Providing compliance guidance for existing products and services.

  • Monitoring, reviewing and disseminating requirements of new laws, regulations and other guidance applicable to employee benefit plans and the products offered in the areas of accountability.

  • Providing decision support to resolve compliance issues that arise in the business.

  • Responding to regulatory inquiries for workplace accounts/products.

  • Drafting and reviewing policies and procedures for specific compliance content.

  • Developing enhanced reporting driving visibility & measurement of program effectiveness.

Fidelity’s Onsite Working Model
Fidelity is transitioning to a full-time onsite working model through a phased rollout across regions and roles. Currently, some roles and locations require 100% onsite presence, while others require less. Onsite expectations are likely to evolve as the rollout continues. This transition does not apply to fully remote roles.
