This is a remote position.
Engage directly with business stakeholders (warehouse operations, supply chain, field operations, inventory management) to gather, document, and validate business requirements
Author Business Requirement Documents (BRDs), Functional Design Documents (FDDs), and Configuration Design Documents (CDDs) for IM and EWM scope
Conduct fit-gap analysis between current-state warehouse and inventory processes and SAP S/4HANA standard capabilities
Define the functional design for inbound, outbound, internal, and inventory counting processes across IM-managed and EWM-managed warehouses
Design integration touch points between SAP EWM/IM and third-party systems (e.g. Maximo, MMA, STORMS, external WMS, transportation management, field mobility platforms)
Configuration and Build
Configure SAP S/4HANA Embedded EWM including warehouse structure (warehouse numbers, storage types, sections, bins, activity areas), putaway and stock removal strategies, wave management, resource and queue management, replenishment rules, and RF/mobile transaction framework
Configure SAP S/4HANA IM including plant and storage location setup, movement types, goods receipt/issue processing, physical inventory, batch management, and stock transfer processing
Configure the IM-to-EWM integration layer including distribution model, RFC connectivity, logical system assignments, and qRFC queue management
Design and configure integration interfaces with third-party systems — defining message formats, field mappings, transformation rules, error handling, and monitoring requirements in collaboration with the integration and technical teams
Testing and Validation
Develop Functional Unit Test (FUT) scripts for all configuration and RICEFW objects with detailed test scenarios, expected results, and traceability to functional design
Execute and support FUT, System Integration Testing (SIT), and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) cycles
Investigate and resolve functional defects, data issues, and integration failures during all testing phases
Validate end-to-end warehouse processes on RF/mobile devices including putaway, picking, packing, goods issue, physical inventory, and stock transfers
Integration and Interface Management
Own the functional design of interfaces between SAP IM/EWM and external systems — including file-based batch interfaces, API-based real-time integrations, and IDoc/middleware (SAP Integration Suite, MuleSoft) message flows
Define validation rules, error handling logic, exception notification requirements, and rerun/recovery procedures for each interface
Collaborate with the integration team on SAP Integration Suite iFlow design, message mapping, and monitoring setup
Support the technical team in translating functional requirements into technical specifications for custom ABAP, CDS views, OData services, and enhancement implementations
Data Migration and Conversion
Define functional requirements for data migration of warehouse master data (product master, storage bins, warehouse structure) and inventory stock loading
Support stock conversion activities for EWM stock upload and LSMW/Migration Cockpit for batch master and material master loading
Define and execute reconciliation procedures (EWM vs S/4HANA stock checks, count comparisons) to validate data migration completeness and accuracy
Cutover and Go-Live Support
Participate in cutover planning and dress rehearsal activities for the IM and EWM workstream
Support go-live execution including final stock load, reconciliation sign-off, first MRP run, and warehouse operations readiness confirmation
Provide hypercare support post go-live — monitoring interfaces, resolving functional issues, and supporting business users during stabilisation
Team Coordination and Governance
Coordinate with offshore and onshore functional, technical, and integration team members to ensure delivery alignment
Track risks, dependencies, and action items for the IM/EWM workstream and escalate blockers proactively
Participate in programme governance forums including design authority reviews, status reporting, and issue resolution meetings
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
9+ years of SAP EWM functional experience including at least one full-cycle S/4HANA implementation or ECC-to-S/4HANA migration
Strong hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA Embedded EWM configuration — warehouse structure, process types, putaway/picking strategies, wave management, RF framework, and resource management
Solid understanding of SAP S/4HANA Inventory Management — goods movements, stock types, batch management, physical inventory, and material valuation
Experience designing and supporting interfaces between SAP and third-party systems (WMS, field mobility, work order management, transportation)
Familiarity with SAP Integration Suite, MuleSoft, or SAP PI/PO middleware for interface design
Strong documentation skills — ability to author clear, structured BRDs, FDDs, CDDs, and FUT scripts
Experience working in large-scale programme environments with multiple workstreams, offshore/onshore delivery models, and formal governance
PREFERRED SKILLS
Experience with utilities, energy, or asset-intensive industries
Knowledge of SAP PM/EAM integration with EWM (work order-driven material demand)
Experience with ITS Mobile / RF device configuration for warehouse floor operations
Familiarity with SAP MRP (MRP Live, special procurement keys, stock transfer requisitions)
Experience with batch management and shelf-life handling in EWM
ABAP debugging awareness for functional troubleshooting
