Job description

What You’ll Be Working On:

1. Strategic Proposal Development: Lead the development of complex and strategic proposals, including design-build and alternative delivery projects, ensuring alignment with client needs and corporate objectives. Coordinate and lead proposal review meetings, including kickoff and quality review sessions. Serve as the primary point of contact for proposal efforts, engaging with internal teams and external partners as needed.

2. Pursuit Strategy: Collaborate with business development and leadership teams to develop win themes, messaging, and pursuit strategies.

3. Content Development: Write, edit, and customize proposal content, tailoring responses to meet specific project needs and client criteria. Thoroughly proofread and edit content provided by technical staff to enhance clarity, persuasiveness, and professionalism. This includes refining technical language, aligning content with established win themes, and ensuring consistency with client requirements and company branding standards, ultimately creating a compelling and cohesive proposal.

4. Content Management: Maintain and refine a library of reusable content, such as resumes, project sheets, and boilerplate responses. Ensure all content reflects the company's capabilities, experience, and achievements, while adhering to branding guidelines.

5. Team Leadership: Mentor and guide proposal managers and support staff, fostering skill development and improving proposal processes.

6. Quality Assurance: Oversee the review process for proposals, ensuring the highest standards of quality, compliance, and creativity.

7. Executive Engagement: Act as a key point of contact for executives during major pursuits, providing status updates and strategic insights.

8. Innovation and Improvement: Identify and implement best practices, tools, and templates to improve efficiency and proposal effectiveness.

9. Relationship Management: Develop relationships with teaming partners and subcontractors, managing their contributions to proposals.

10. Market Research: Conduct research on clients, competitors, and industry trends to enhance proposal quality and competitiveness.

11. Post-Submission Activities: Facilitate debriefs and lessons learned sessions to improve future proposal efforts.



Requirements

What We’re Looking For:

· Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field.

· 10+ years of experience in proposal management in the AEC industry, with at least 3 years in a senior or leadership role.

· Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign).

· Strong understanding of federal, state, and local government procurement processes and compliance requirements.

· Proficiency in proposal management tools and familiarity with AEC industry standards.

· Expertise in complex proposal strategies, including alternative delivery methods.

· Exceptional leadership, communication, and organizational skills and attention to detail.

* Experience in CALTRANS is highly preferred.

The Senior Proposal Manager leads the strategic development of complex, high-value proposals and is responsible for mentoring proposal teams to achieve excellence in proposal submissions. They play a key role in aligning proposal efforts with broader business development strategies and act as a trusted advisor to executive leadership in pursuit planning.
Salary: 150000- 170000
