Pay: $130,000.00 - $160,000.00 per year

Location

Fully remote. Candidates must reside in New Jersey or New York City and maintain an active New Jersey Bar license. Local travel may be required for court appearances, depositions, client meetings, or other case-related matters.

Note

Must have an active New Jersey Bar license, 3+ years of experience practicing as an Associate Attorney, and 1+ year of directly relevant insurance defense and insurance coverage experience.

Job Description

  • Handle insurance defense and insurance coverage matters through all stages of litigation and dispute resolution.
  • Provide legal analysis and strategic guidance on insurance-related claims, disputes, coverage issues, and litigation matters.
  • Draft and review pleadings, motions, discovery, correspondence, coverage analyses, and other legal documents.
  • Conduct legal research and analyze statutes, regulations, case law, policies, and other relevant authorities.
  • Manage discovery, including written discovery, document review, depositions, and related case preparation.
  • Prepare for hearings, depositions, mediations, trials, and other litigation proceedings.
  • Evaluate liability, coverage, damages, exposure, and potential litigation strategies.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, carriers, opposing counsel, courts, experts, and other parties.
  • Maintain organized case files, monitor deadlines, and efficiently manage multiple matters.
  • Collaborate with attorneys and support professionals to develop practical strategies and favorable outcomes.

Qualifications

  • JD from an accredited law school.
  • Active New Jersey Bar license in good standing.
  • 1+ year of insurance defense experience.
  • 1+ year of insurance coverage experience.
  • Strong legal research, writing, analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Experience with litigation, discovery, motions, depositions, and case management.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively in a fully remote environment.
