This role manages prior authorizations for dermatology medications, including topicals, orals, injectables, and specialty drugs. You'll work closely with internal clinical teams, insurance carriers, and pharmacies to submit, track, and resolve prior authorizations and support patients through financial access pathways when needed.
This role is fully remote and will report to the Prior Authorization Lead.
Submit and manage prior authorizations for dermatology medications
Track authorization status and follow up to prevent delays in care
Respond to requests for additional clinical documentation
Prepare and submit appeals when required
Coordinate with pharmacies and insurance to resolve authorization issues
Support enrollment in patient assistance programs and manufacturer copay programs when applicable
Maintain accurate documentation in internal systems
You enjoy solving complex insurance puzzles and navigating payer requirements
You're highly detail-oriented and catch small errors before they become big delays
You feel satisfaction from keeping processes organized and moving efficiently
You're proactive about following up and don't let tasks fall through the crack
You communicate confidently with insurance reps, pharmacies, and clinical teams
You're comfortable handling time-sensitive work that directly impacts patient care
You care deeply about removing financial barriers so patients can access treatment
You believe healthcare should be accessible to everyone, not just the privileged few

The Non-Negotiables:
Minimum 1 year of prior authorization experience
Experience with biologic prior authorizations
Experience with patient assistance programs, copay cards, or financial assistance workflows
Experience supporting dermatology medications
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Clear written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage volume in a fast-paced startup environment
