Job description

This is a remote position.

Job title : Manager — SAP Materials Management (MM) , SAP S/4HANA Sourcing & Procurement  SAP Ariba
Role Description : Work as part of the SAP MM and Ariba team on large S/4HANA transformation programmes — contributing to solution design, delivering assigned areas independently and to a high standard, and guiding less experienced colleagues along the way.
PURPOSE Translate client procurement and inventory processes into robust, upgrade-safe SAP configuration, and deliver assigned areas on time and to quality as part of the wider project team.
SCOPE Contributes across the full delivery lifecycle of the MM / Sourcing & Procurement workstream — design, build, test, data
migration, cutover and hypercare — including Ariba integration.
REPORTS TO Workstream Lead / Senior Manager, Enterprise Applications (SAP).
WORKING STYLE A hands-on member of the delivery team. Completes assigned areas independently with minimal supervision, and guides
less experienced colleagues on MM and Ariba topics. No direct line-management responsibility.
KEY INTERFACES Client procurement and supply chain process owners, IT leads and programme management; internal SD, FI/CO, PP,
technical and change management workstreams.
MEASURES OF SUCCESS Assigned deliverables completed to plan and to quality; design decisions accepted first time; low post-go-live defect
volume; positive client and team feedback; effective knowledge sharing with colleagues.

Key Responsibilities :
SOLUTION DESIGN & DELIVERY
Participate in requirement-gathering and fit-gap workshops with client business and IT stakeholders; translate business processes into SAP MM solution design.
Deliver functional design and configuration across procure-to-pay, inventory management, valuation and material master governance.
Author and review functional specifications for RICEFW objects; guide technical teams through build and unit testing.
Drive standard-versus-custom design decisions, ensuring solutions are scalable, upgrade-safe and aligned to SAP leading practices.
Prepare test scenarios and support SIT, UAT and regression testing, including defect triage and resolution.
Plan and execute MM data migration — material master, business partner, info records, source lists, open POs and stock balances — including mock loads and
reconciliation.
Configure and support the integration between SAP Ariba and S/4HANA, including master data replication, transaction flow and error-handling processes.
Contribute to cutover planning and provide go-live and hypercare support for the MM and Ariba workstreams.
CLIENT & STAKEHOLDER MANAGEMENT
Work directly with client process owners and IT leads on MM and Ariba matters within your area.
Report progress, flag risks, issues and dependencies early, and help resolve them with the wider team.
Collaborate closely with the SD, FI/CO, PP, QM, PM and Ariba teams to align cross-functional designs.
Support change management and end-user enablement, including review of training material and process documentation.
WAYS OF WORKING & TEAM GUIDANCE
Work independently on assigned areas, taking decisions within your remit without day-to-day supervision.
Guide and support less experienced colleagues — clarifying requirements, reviewing their deliverables and helping unblock issues.
Provide effort estimates for your area and report status accurately against the project plan.
Identify scope changes early, raise change requests and keep timesheets and delivery tracking up to date.
Mentor junior colleagues informally, sharing MM and Ariba knowledge and supporting their technical development.
BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT & PRACTICE GROWTH
Contribute to proposals, RFP responses, effort estimation and client orals.
Identify opportunities to extend scope within existing accounts.
Develop accelerators, reusable assets and points of view that strengthen the practice's go-to-market position.
Stay current with the SAP roadmap, including S/4HANA innovations and cloud procurement solutions.
CORE SAP MM
Procurement: purchase requisitions, RFQ, purchase orders, contracts, scheduling agreements, source determination and release strategies.
Inventory management: goods movements, physical inventory, special stocks and stock transport orders (intra- and inter-company).
Logistics invoice verification: three-way match, GR/IR, ERS, tolerance keys and blocking logic.
Master data: material master, vendor/business partner, purchasing info records, source lists and quota arrangements, including governance and data quality
design.
Special processes: subcontracting, consignment, pipeline, third-party and returns procurement.
Configuration depth: pricing procedures and condition technique, tax and account determination (OBYC), split valuation, batch management and MRP
parameters.
Integration: strong command of MM–FI and MM–SD integration, including inventory valuation and its accounting impact.
S/4HANA
Hands-on experience with S/4HANA Sourcing & Procurement, including simplification items, Business Partner conversion, MATNR field-length extension and the
material ledger.
Experience with Fiori applications for procurement, embedded analytics and role design.
Practical experience with Migration Cockpit (LTMC/LTMOM) or legacy LSMW for data migration.
SAP ARIBA
Demonstrable implementation experience across one or more Ariba solutions — Sourcing (RFx events, auctions, award scenarios), Contracts (contract workspaces,
clause libraries, templates), Buying & Invoicing / Guided Buying, and Supplier Lifecycle & Performance (SLP).
Working knowledge of supplier onboarding, registration, qualification and segmentation processes, including Ariba Network enablement of suppliers.
Catalogue management experience covering CIF catalogues, punch-out catalogues and catalogue validation.
Hands-on integration expertise between Ariba and SAP ERP / S/4HANA using Cloud Integration Gateway (CIG) or SAP Integration Suite / CPI, including master data
replication, cXML message flows and monitoring of failed transactions.
Clear understanding of the end-to-end Ariba–S/4HANA transaction cycle (requisition, purchase order, goods receipt, invoice) and of ERP-integrated versus
standalone deployment models.
Familiarity with realm setup, site configuration, transformation and mapping of custom fields, and Ariba release-cycle management.
PROJECT EXPERIENCE
Minimum four full-lifecycle SAP implementations, of which at least one or two on S/4HANA — greenfield, brownfield conversion or selective data transition.
At least one full implementation or integration project involving SAP Ariba, delivered alongside or on top of an SAP ERP landscape.
Working knowledge of SAP Activate; familiarity with Agile and hybrid delivery models.
Global rollout, template design and localisation experience strongly preferred.
PREFERRED / VALUE-ADD
Exposure to SAP Business Network for Supply Chain, or comparable platforms such as Coupa or Jaggaer.
SAP Ariba solution certification and experience of Ariba Spend Analysis or Supply Chain Collaboration.
Understanding of Indian statutory requirements (GST, e-invoicing, e-way bill) and other regional localisations.
Exposure to SAP BTP, Integration Suite / CPI and clean-core extensibility principles.
Basic ABAP debugging ability sufficient to work effectively with technical teams.
