Job description

QA Automation Engineer

Location: Remote

Work Authorization Notice: Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States for the duration of employment without requiring current or future employer sponsorship of any kind, including but not limited to OPT, STEM OPT, H-1B, or any other visa classification.

We are looking for a QA Automation Engineer to help drive quality, reliability, and stability across our Fonteva implementations. This role is responsible for developing and maintaining scalable automated testing frameworks and test suites across Salesforce, web applications, APIs, and integrations.

The QA Automation Engineer will partner closely with Solution Consultants, Solution Architects, Developers, and Project Managers to translate business requirements into comprehensive automated test scenarios, improve test coverage, and advance an automation-first approach to quality. You’ll play an important role in strengthening our quality engineering practices while supporting multiple implementations and upgrades across our Professional Services organization.

What you’ll do:

Automation Framework Development & Engineering

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable automated testing frameworks and test suites

  • Build automated functional, regression, integration, end-to-end, API, and smoke tests using modern test automation tools and frameworks

  • Develop reusable test components, utilities, and automation accelerators that improve testing efficiency, consistency, and long-term maintainability

  • Continuously improve automation frameworks, engineering standards, and testing methodologies to support efficient, high-quality software delivery

  • Evaluate and optimize modern test automation tools and quality engineering practices to improve test coverage and delivery speed

Salesforce, Web & Integration Testing

  • Develop and execute automated testing across Salesforce applications, web applications, APIs, and integrations

  • Validate Salesforce configurations, customizations, declarative automation, Apex customizations, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Experience Cloud, and integrations

  • Test end-to-end business processes to ensure solutions meet functional and non-functional requirements

  • Validate data migrations and integrations to ensure data quality, solution compatibility, and reliability

  • Support implementations and upgrades through automated regression testing, release-impact assessment, and compatibility validation

Quality Engineering & Defect Management

  • Partner with Developers, Solution Architects, and Solution Consultants to understand business and technical requirements and translate them into comprehensive automated test scenarios

  • Identify, document, and track defects, working closely with development teams to troubleshoot issues, verify fixes, and help prevent recurring defects

  • Apply strong debugging, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis skills to identify quality issues and improve software reliability

  • Help ensure solutions meet quality expectations across performance, security, reliability, usability, and functionality

  • Prepare and maintain automation documentation, including test strategies, test cases, execution reports, and quality metrics

AI-Enabled & Modern Testing Practices

  • Evaluate and implement AI-assisted testing capabilities to improve test coverage and engineering productivity

  • Explore AI-powered testing, intelligent test generation, self-healing automation, and other emerging quality engineering capabilities

  • Identify opportunities to use automation and modern testing approaches to increase testing efficiency and accelerate delivery

  • Continuously evaluate testing tools, frameworks, and methodologies that can strengthen quality across the software delivery lifecycle

Cross-Functional & Multi-Project Collaboration

  • Work closely with Developers, Solution Architects, Solution Consultants, and Project Managers throughout the implementation lifecycle

  • Partner with cross-functional teams to understand requirements, identify testing risks, and establish appropriate automated coverage

  • Manage testing activities across multiple projects and implementations simultaneously

  • Support implementation and upgrade teams by identifying release risks and helping ensure high-quality, stable solutions

  • Contribute to a collaborative, quality-focused engineering culture centered on continuous improvement

What you’ll bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field

  • 5+ years of QA Automation experience

  • Hands-on experience developing and maintaining automation frameworks using Playwright (TypeScript preferred), Selenium, WebdriverIO, TestRigor, or equivalent automation tools

  • Proficiency with JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, Git, and GitLab

  • Experience testing Salesforce applications and end-to-end Salesforce business processes

  • Experience testing Salesforce capabilities including declarative automation, Apex customizations, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Experience Cloud, and integrations

  • Experience building automated functional, regression, integration, end-to-end, API, and smoke testing

  • Experience evaluating and implementing AI-assisted testing tools to improve test coverage and engineering productivity

  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, debugging, and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify root causes and improve software quality

  • Experience managing testing activities across multiple projects simultaneously

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders and translate business requirements into comprehensive automated testing scenarios

  • Organized, execution-focused, and comfortable balancing multiple priorities in a Professional Services environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience building automation frameworks specifically for Salesforce applications

  • Experience testing Salesforce managed packages such as Fonteva or similar solutions

  • Experience with AI-powered testing tools, self-healing test automation, or intelligent test generation

  • Experience with performance and load testing tools such as JMeter or similar technologies

  • Knowledge of performance testing methodologies

Why This Role:

  • Take meaningful ownership of automation frameworks and quality engineering practices supporting complex Salesforce implementations

  • Work across Salesforce, web applications, APIs, integrations, and end-to-end business processes rather than focusing on a single testing layer

  • Build reusable automation components and accelerators that can improve quality and efficiency across multiple implementations

  • Partner closely with Developers, Solution Architects, Solution Consultants, and Project Managers throughout the delivery lifecycle

  • Help advance automation-first testing and modern quality engineering practices within Professional Services

  • Explore and implement AI-assisted testing capabilities that can improve test coverage, productivity, and delivery speed

  • Make a direct impact on the quality, reliability, and stability of customer implementations
