Job description

Created in 2016, Free2move simplifies mobility-related uses by offering a wide range of services to satisfy everyone's 🚘 travel needs.

With Free2move, you can rent a city car for shopping or for your stay in Italy or book a car park during your weekend in Paris... all in one click, on our web/mobile platform! πŸ“²

Born from the merger of the Stellantis Group πŸš— and the start-up TravelCar, Free2move, thanks to its agility and its spirit of conquest has managed to establish itself in just few years as a reference player to revolutionize the mobility of all travellers.

Having become the #1 reflex for more than 6 million users, Free2move operates in more than 170 countries across different continents 🌎 and is available in 30 languages and 26 currencies. 5000 partners trust us and several hundred thousand vehicles are available!

If you want to join a team of +650 experts and bold international projects, then you're in the right place! 🎯

You will evolve in an ultra-dynamic, innovative, agile, internationally-focused structure and integrate our talented teams, full of ideas and motivation and with multidisciplinary skills, at the crossroads of the digital eco-system and the fast-changing automotive sector.

At Free2Move, data science and analytics are at the very core of our products and decision-making. Our analytics team tackles a wide range of impactful topicsβ€”from influencing key business decisions and optimizing operations, to putting the algorithms that govern critical aspects of our products into production.

You will be joining our dedicated Pricing Analytics team, which takes charge of all topics related to pricing.

We deeply understand pricing dynamics and use this expertise to build and improve Machine Learning algorithms that define our pricing in real-time.

Your Next Missions As a Data Engineer in our team, you will own the full lifecycle of data products and act as a technical leader.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborating closely with Data Scientists to bring state-of-the-art, real-time pricing algorithms to production for millions of users.

  • Taking full ownership of the data pipelines within the Pricing Analytics scope.

  • Architecting and building the right systems to solve highly complex or vaguely defined problems.

  • Engaging with cross-functional stakeholders to lead the design, development, optimization, and productionization of ML and ML-based solutions.

  • Managing the infrastructure on which our Pricing algorithm runs and taking responsibility for the performance of the pricing ML system.

  • Leading cross-team efforts to leverage and scale our ML infrastructure for model development, training, and deployment needs.

  • Writing well-crafted, well-tested, readable, and maintainable production-quality code.

Who You Are & What You Bring We believe in team success over individual achievement and foster a highly collaborative environment. To thrive in this role, you bring:

  • Education: A degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related quantitative field.

  • Coding Expertise: Expert-level proficiency in SQL and Python, with a strong track record of writing clean, modular, optimized code for complex data transformations. (Note: Previous experience as a Data Scientist is a strong plus!)

  • Data Modeling: Significant hands-on experience modeling enterprise Data Warehouses using dbt (including Kimball methodology, dimensional modeling, star schemas, data testing, and data lineage).

  • Cloud & Big Data: Strong experience with the Databricks ecosystem (Delta Lake, PySpark, Unity Catalog, SQL Endpoints, Serverless compute) and AWS cloud infrastructure (S3, IAM, KMS, DataSync).

  • Orchestration & DevOps: Solid experience writing and orchestrating complex production DAGs using Apache Airflow (or MWAA), managing deployments with Docker/Kubernetes, and working with CI/CD pipelines (Git, GitHub Actions, Terraform).

  • Data Visualization: Hands-on experience building, optimizing, and maintaining enterprise dashboards using Tableau, PowerBI, or Databricks SQL Dashboards.

  • Modern Workflows: A habit of actively leveraging AI tools (like Claude and Databricks AI features) to accelerate pipeline creation, automate dbt documentation, and write smart PR review guardrails.

  • Compliance & Security: A solid understanding of GDPR requirements, including how to enforce PII masking, access control policies, data retention, and auditing via Unity Catalog.

  • Mindset & Communication: An analytical mindset capable of translating complex business requirements into scalable, bulletproof data marts and KPI metrics. You prefer simple, efficient, well-tested code over fragile architectures. You can also communicate complex technical concepts clearly to business stakeholders and domain teams (Pricing, Customer, Advanced Analytics).

  • Languages: Fluency in English (written and oral) is required to work effectively in our international context.
