Position Overview

At Autodesk, we do what no other company can: we help our customers design and make anything. As we continue to transform how customers experience Autodesk, we are investing in insight-driven product development, seamless digital experiences, and AI-powered innovation to help people achieve meaningful outcomes faster and smarter.  To deliver on that vision, we need exceptional contributors and leaders who are curious, adaptable, customer-focused, and excited to help shape the future of work at Autodesk.

We are seeking a Sr. Manager Design Technology, AI Frameworks, AEC to join the Applied Intelligence design team within the Experience Foundations organization of the Architecture, Engineering, Construction (AEC) Division.  We are bringing the power of AI agents to our customers design problems while simultaneously rapidly evolving the way we design and develop ourselves. This role reports to the Sr. Director, Design Frameworks, AEC.

This strategic management role is focused on building a component-based AI design framework that scales across the Autodesk platform.  This role is also responsible for overseeing the creation of standards, processes and best practices that facilitate our team’s engagement with vertical platform teams as they move more of their workflows and capabilities to our agentic platform.

Working closely with Design and Engineering, you will lead our shift toward AI-augmented design development and establish a functional components library that will increase consistency, reduce redundancy and increase our overall quality of experiences we are able to deploy at scale across the platform.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee development of adaptive, context-aware UI components that scale across agentic workflows

  • Establish and maintain a modular framework that supports personalized and agent-assisted user experiences

  • Establish scalable processes that speed delivery from prototype to deployable solutions

  • Build collaborative relationships and demonstrate value for stakeholders to adopt framework components, processes and best practices

  • Build and develop a strong team of UX Engineers, Motion designers and Architects that can execute the frameworks that will support our emerging platform

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years of professional experience managing front-end or full-stack development teams

  • 12+ years related experience

  • Experience creating and maintaining reusable UI components and component libraries

  • AI Tooling Fluency: Demonstrated "must-have" experience using Claude Code, Gemini Code Assist, or equivalent LLM-based coding agents to deliver complex features

  • Expert React & TypeScript: Deep proficiency in React Hooks, state management (Zustand, Redux, or Context), and component-driven design

  • Experience leading the architecture and development of large-scale web applications, including performance optimization, accessibility, responsive design, and modern UI engineering practices

  • Proficiency in Software Development practices, including version control, testing, and debugging

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience building and maintaining component libraries

  • Experience building agentic or AI-assisted interaction components

  • Experience leading design systems that support complex workflows

  • Experience mentoring front end engineers and elevating technical capabilities within a team

  • Experience establishing cross organizational methods and practices
