Job Description

We are seeking a highly-skilled proofreader to join our team on a contract basis. As a remote proofreader, you will be responsible for reviewing and correcting written content to ensure it is free from errors, consistent, and clear.

Responsibilities:

• Review and edit written content for grammar, spelling, punctuation, and syntax errors.
• Ensure written content adheres to our style guidelines and brand voice.
• Verify facts and check sources to ensure accuracy.
• Provide feedback and suggestions to writers to improve the quality of their work.
• Manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
• Communicate effectively with writers and project managers to ensure timely delivery of projects.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a proofreader or similar role.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to spot errors.
• Familiarity with style guides such as APA, MLA, and Chicago.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.
• Proficiency in using digital tools and software such as Google Docs, Microsoft Word, and Grammarly.
• Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or related field.

This is a remote contract position, so candidates must have access to a computer, internet connection, and a quiet workspace. The contract duration and compensation will be discussed during the interview process.
