Senior Accountant - Remote (Contract)

Overview of the role:

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

• Assist with the month-end close process, prepare journal entries and reconciliations
• Assist with monthly variance analysis and investigate variances
• Support operational accounting functions such as AR, AP, Payroll, Finance on an as-needed basis
• Assist with technical accounting guidance research for accounting issues such as Revenue Recognition & Lease Accounting or as needed
• Assist with various inventory-related accounting tasks such as reconciliation, cost/valuation, analyzing slow-moving/excess & obsolete inventory
• Assist with various deliverables to support the preparation of the financial statements and/or requests for information from all business functions
• Assist with any internal and external audits, tax preparation support, and quarterly reviews
• Assist with any other ad hoc analysis, reports, or analytics as needed

 Credentials & Experience:

• Undergraduate degree in Accounting or Finance
• 5 years of accounting experience
• Proficiency in the U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Financial Accounting Services Board (FASB) rules and standards
• Experience with major ERP systems and proficiency in excel
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification (preferred)
• Experience with external audit with a Big 4 or large Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Firm (preferred)
