Job description

ACETECH is expanding its global Field Applications Engineering capability and is seeking experienced Senior Field Applications Engineers in multiple regions. This is a senior individual contributor role, providing deep technical leadership to builders, OEMs, and strategic partners while supporting complex solution delivery and fleet commissioning at scale.

This role is identical regardless of location, with regional alignment determined during the hiring process. In early-stage markets, the role may support multiple regions.

The Role

As a Senior Field Applications Engineer, you will act as the primary technical authority within your assigned region, leading consultative engagement with OEMs, builders, and partners. You will shape requirements, design and implement complex solutions, and lead multi-vehicle commissioning programmes.

This is not a people management role at the point of hire; however, as each region grows and dedicated team structures are established, there will be opportunities for high-performing Senior Field Applications Engineers to step into Field Applications Engineer Team Lead or other management-track roles, subject to business need and performance.

You will also provide technical mentorship and guidance to less experienced engineers and contribute to raising overall technical standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead consultative technical engagement with OEMs, builders, and strategic partners
  • Capture and shape requirements to develop technically sound and commercially viable solutions
  • Design, configure, and implement complex or non-standard solutions
  • Lead multi-vehicle fleet commissioning programmes through to sign-off
  • Deliver technical training and workshops to customers and partners
  • Support development of technical documentation and best practices
  • Provide informal coaching and mentorship to Field Applications Engineers (IC1/IC2)
  • Contribute to professional services delivery and support revenue-generating opportunities

Experience and Background

  • 5–8 years’ experience in field applications engineering, systems integration, vehicle electronics, or similar
  • Proven experience working directly with OEMs, builders, or strategic technical partners
  • Strong track record delivering complex or fleet-scale technical implementations
  • Experience designing and configuring non-standard technical solutions

Experience in emergency services, telematics, or vehicle conversion environments is advantageous but not essential.

Skills and Capabilities

  • Strong consultative communication skills with senior technical stakeholders
  • Ability to lead requirements definition rather than follow instruction
  • Advanced technical design and configuration capability
  • Experience delivering training or technical workshops
  • Strong ownership of delivery quality and outcomes

Qualifications

  • Degree (Level 7/8 NFQ or equivalent) in Engineering, Electronics, or related discipline, or equivalent experience
  • Full driving licence and ability to travel internationally
  • Desirable: CAN/J1939 knowledge or relevant certifications

Working Model

This role requires regular travel to customer, builder, and OEM sites. Travel will primarily be regional, with international travel required depending on assignment.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Salary aligned to regional benchmarks
  • Performance-related bonus linked to delivery and professional services contribution
  • Pension, health insurance, and associated benefits in line with local policies
  • Company-provided equipment and technical tooling
  • 22 days annual leave

Why Join ACETECH

You will join at a critical stage of global growth, working directly with leading OEMs and partners while shaping technical standards and delivery approaches across regions. This role offers significant scope for impact without moving into people management, ideal for experienced engineers who want to remain deeply technical while influencing at scale.
