Senior Backend Developer

 StellarTech is a product IT company looking for a Senior Backend Developer.

You will be responsible for developing backend services for the StellarTech Platform, building new functionality from scratch, participating in architecture discussions, integrating external services, and ensuring the performance, quality, and stability of the platform. The role is ideal for a senior backend engineer who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, working with distributed systems, and collaborating closely with Product and Engineering teams.

What You’ll Do:

• Develop backend services for the StellarTech Platform from scratch using Python.

• Design and implement scalable, reliable, and maintainable backend solutions.

• Collaborate with the Tech Lead, Product Manager, engineers, and internal stakeholders to clarify requirements and assess technical feasibility.

• Participate in architecture and technical discussions, especially around service design, data flows, integrations, and system reliability.

• Build integrations with external platforms, APIs, and third-party services.

• Work with microservice and event-driven architecture, including message queues, asynchronous processing, and distributed systems.

• Ensure platform performance, quality, stability, and reliability.

• Troubleshoot, investigate, and resolve production issues using logs, monitoring, alerts, metrics, and root-cause analysis.

• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and engineering practices.

• Use AI-assisted development tools to improve engineering productivity and delivery speed.

What We’re Looking For:

• 7+ years of backend development experience.

• Deep knowledge of the Python ecosystem and modern backend development practices.

• Experience building scalable, high-load, or data-intensive applications.

• Strong understanding of relational databases, including schema design, transactions, indexing, and query performance.

• Experience with NoSQL databases and understanding of when to use them.

• Good understanding of message queues, event-driven systems, and microservice architecture.

• Experience integrating external platforms, APIs, or third-party services.

• Strong production ownership mindset: monitoring, logging, alerting, debugging, incident investigation, and reliability improvements.

• Experience with CI/CD tools, preferably GitHub Actions.

• Ability to work independently, make pragmatic technical decisions, and take ownership of backend services end to end.

• Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, or similar.

Nice To Have:

• Experience with AWS and cloud-native technologies.

• Kubernetes experience.

• Experience with DDD, CQRS, event sourcing, or similar architectural patterns.

• Experience with Temporal or other workflow orchestration tools.

• Experience in MarTech, FinTech, payments, or analytics-heavy products.

• Experience leading technical initiatives, mentoring engineers, or owning complex backend areas.

• Analytical mindset with a long-term approach to service design.
