Podcast Clipper / Short-Form Video Editor (Performance Contract) - Remote

Engagement: 1099 contractor. Performance-based. Location: Remote.

A note from the founder

Long-form content is dead until somebody clips it.

The Wilkinson Firm produces real founder content, real client conversations, real industry commentary. None of it travels without short-form. Most podcast and YouTube channels in our space are wasting 90% of the asset because they never clip it.

We are looking for clippers who can spot the 30-second moment that travels and edit it sharp enough to make a CMHC director, a hotel GM, or a federal contracting officer stop scrolling.

This is a performance role with a clear climb. Mission-aligned starter rates. Real upside as you prove reach.

What you would do

• Clip TWF podcast, founder interview, and client conversation content into short-form video (60-90 sec, vertical, captioned)
• Identify the narrative beat, story arc, or one-liner that travels
• Add captions, lower-third graphics, brand-consistent intro/outro per TWF brand standards
• Deliver clips at agreed cadence (2-4 per week to start, scaling)
• Coordinate with the Social Media Manager on publication scheduling
• Track view performance and iterate on what works

Compensation - Climbing Ladder

Stage 1 (first 90 days, mission-aligned starter rate):

• $15 per approved clip
• $3 per 1,000 views above 500 baseline
• $25 milestone bonus per clip that crosses 10,000 views

Stage 2 (after 20 approved clips + sustained traction):

• $25 per approved clip
• $5 per 1,000 views above 500
• $50 milestone bonus at 10,000 views

Stage 3 (after 6 months + channel scale gate hit):

• $40 per approved clip
• $5 per 1,000 views
• $100 milestone bonus at 10,000 views
• $500 bonus at 100,000 views
• 10% of any sponsorship revenue traced to a clip you created
• Senior advisor track conversation opens

Who we want

• 1-5 years editing short-form video (TikTok, Reels, YouTube Shorts)
• Comfortable in CapCut, DaVinci Resolve, Adobe Premiere, or equivalent
• Sharp narrative editing instinct - you spot the moment that travels
• Caption fluency, design-aware
• Self-directed, deadline-disciplined
• Strong taste in pacing and tone

Bonus: Background in B2B, professional services, healthcare, or hospitality content. Experience clipping for a podcast or YouTube channel that grew.

• Editors who need a producer to spoon-feed the clip choices
• Editors who only do long-form (we need short-form fluency)
• Editors looking for guaranteed monthly retainers (this is performance-based)
