Job description

Role Overview

We are looking for an Events Lead who owns events end to end and treats them as a living extension of the brand.

This role is about execution, judgment, and follow-through. You will plan, organize, and run events in fast-changing environments, act as the main point of contact internally and externally, and ensure every event meaningfully reflects our values, culture, and momentum.

This is a hands-on role. You will not manage a large team. You will work closely with marketing, partnerships, community, and leadership to turn ideas into real-world experiences that people remember.

You should also bring a network — people who show up when you call, and rooms you know how to fill. We're not just looking for someone who runs events well; we're looking for someone who can draw a crowd.

What You'll Own

  • End-to-end ownership of all events — strategy, planning, logistics, execution, and post-event follow-up
  • Acting as the single point of contact for venues, partners, vendors, speakers, sponsors, and internal teams
  • Designing events as part of a broader narrative, not isolated moments — with consistent tone, energy, and intent across touchpoints
  • Creating experiences that build trust, excitement, and long-term sentiment around the brand
  • Managing timelines, budgets, run-of-show documents, checklists, and contingency plans
  • Coordinating merch production, sourcing, inventory, distribution, and on-site usage
  • Ensuring every detail is handled — from contracts and shipping to on-the-ground execution
  • Adapting quickly when plans shift and making clear decisions under pressure
  • Following through after events with debriefs, learnings, and next steps

What You'll Do Day to Day

  • Plan and execute events — partner events, side events, community meetups, private dinners, workshops, summits, and institutional activations
  • Translate high-level goals into practical execution plans
  • Keep everyone aligned through clear communication and tight timelines
  • Handle logistics personally when needed and delegate only when it makes sense
  • Make sure events run smoothly, feel intentional, and accurately reflect the brand
  • Spot issues early and resolve them without escalation or drama

What We're Looking For

  • Strong experience running events in crypto, startups, or fast-moving tech environments
  • A real network. You've got relationships you can activate to fill rooms and attract the right people
  • Proven ability to execute independently and close loops without reminders
  • High personal accountability and comfort being the owner of outcomes
  • Calm under pressure and comfortable with ambiguity
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Good judgment about trade-offs, priorities, and where effort matters most
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and communicate clearly with different stakeholders
  • Taste and intuition for creating meaningful, human experiences
  • Comfortable managing merch as a core part of event expression
  • Curiosity about adjacent areas like PR, content, or community and a willingness to grow beyond events over time

At the end of the day, we'd love to work with someone who really cares and prides themself on execution. Our ideal candidate is someone who sweats the details, goes the extra mile, and genuinely wants every event to land well.

What This Role Is Not

  • Not a strategy-only role
  • Not a large team management role
  • Not a purely logistics coordinator role

This role sits at the intersection of execution, brand, and experience — and will directly report to the CMO.

Success Looks Like

  • Events run smoothly, feel intentional, and leave people with a strong emotional takeaway
  • Internal teams trust you to own events without micromanagement
  • Partners and attendees associate the brand with care, credibility, and momentum
  • Rooms are full — with the right people
  • Things get done, even when conditions change

Why work at Octant?

Octant is building funding infrastructure for the Ethereum ecosystem. Our work has real stakes — how impactful projects get funded onchain, how communities coordinate around what matters, and how Ethereum grows sustainably.

Our team is small and sharp. You'll have genuine ownership here. You're not just executing someone else's vision and you'll be working directly with people who care deeply about doing it right.

We're at an exciting inflection point. Octant v2 is live, our institutional presence is growing, and the conversations we're part of are ones that matter. The events you run won't be filler. They'll be part of something people actually care about.

If you want your work to mean something, and you want a front-row seat to how Ethereum and open source grows, this is a good place to be.
