This position is ideal for individuals who have developed extensive knowledge of one or more breeds through years of experience.

If you've dedicated years to understanding your breed and enjoy helping others learn, we'd love to connect.
Requirements
As a Barkera Breed-Specific Expert, you'll help preserve and share the knowledge that makes each breed unique.
Depending on your interests and availability, you may choose to:
- Review breed-specific educational content.
- Contribute to Breed-Specific Owner Guides.
- Share historical and breed preservation knowledge.
- Help educate owners on breed temperament, structure, purpose, and development.
- Participate in interviews, podcasts, webinars, or educational videos.
- Mentor new owners through educational initiatives.
- Collaborate with veterinarians, trainers, nutritionists, groomers, behaviorists, researchers, and fellow breed experts.
- Assist with educational events and community discussions.
- Help ensure educational resources accurately represent each breed's history, function, and intended characteristics.
There is no expectation that every expert participates in every project. We value meaningful contributions of all sizes.
Flexible Opportunities
Every expert has different interests and availability.
Some contributors may simply review educational materials.
Others may enjoy writing articles, appearing in interviews, speaking at events, mentoring owners, or helping develop new educational programs.
You choose how involved you'd like to be.
Both remote and in-person opportunities are available.
We're seeking individuals who:
- Have significant hands-on experience with one or more breeds.
- Are passionate about preserving breed history, function, and responsible ownership.
- Enjoy educating and mentoring others.
- Value collaboration and lifelong learning.
- Support ethical breeding, responsible ownership, and breed preservation.
- Believe education is one of the best ways to improve the future of purebred dogs.
Professional titles and certifications are welcomed but not required. We recognize that many of the most respected breed experts have earned their knowledge through decades of practical experience.
