Job Description

Italian Itinerary is offering a dynamic internship opportunity for undergraduate and graduate students passionate about digital marketing, market research, and AI integration within the travel design industry. This role presents a chance to delve into the vibrant landscape of Italian slow travel while gaining practical, portfolio-worthy experience.

Role Overview

The AI Marketing & Research Intern will focus on strengthening Italian Itinerary's online presence and positioning — improving our Google Business Profile and social visibility, increasing engagement, and conducting niche market research that generates new creative marketing ideas and better ways to promote content we already have.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

Digital Positioning & Online Presence:

• Research and help optimize Italian Itinerary's Google Business Profile for visibility and accuracy.
• Analyze and support growth of our social media presence, with a focus on increasing engagement.
• Identify content and posting strategies to better promote the content we already have.

AI-Powered Market & Competitive Research:

• Conduct niche market research on travel trends, target audiences, and competitor strategies.
• Use AI tools to generate new creative marketing ideas and content angles.
• Analyze Italian Itinerary's current market position and identify opportunities for differentiation.

Content & Marketing Support:

• Assist in reviewing/generating new e-marketing ideas.
• Support drafting/writing promotional content for social media and website.
• Build organized research databases (Excel/Google Sheets) to track findings and insights.

Secondary Duties & Responsibilities:

Vendor & Partnership Research:

• Assist in researching and identifying potential vendor and collaboration opportunities as they relate to marketing and positioning goals.

Additional Information:

• This is a 100% virtual position.
• The internship is unpaid.
• Requires a commitment of 15–20 hours per week for a minimum of 5–6 months.
• Proficiency in English is essential.
• A signed contractual agreement is required.

Requirements:

• Genuine passion for travel and digital marketing.
• Strong eagerness to explore AI-driven research and strategy.
• Proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets preferred.

Qualifications

What We're Looking For

• Fluency in English (strong written and spoken communication skills).

• Proficiency in spreadsheets (Excel/Google Sheets) and digital/social media platforms.
• Any experience with Google Business Profile, SEO, or AI-enhanced tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Gemini, Canva) is a plus.
• Italian language skills are a plus but not required.
