Job description

Associate, Paid Search Media

A career that makes a difference!

RKD Group, a direct response marketing and advertising agency, is seeking an Associate, Paid Search Media to achieve breakthrough results that make a positive impact in this world. By joining our team, you become an integral part of that mission. With our headquarters located in Dallas, Texas, RKD Group is a remote-first company that has helped hundreds of nonprofits raise billions of dollars to fulfill their missions.

The Associate, Paid Search Media has four primary responsibilities– Google Ad Grant Management, Paid Search Management, Conversion Tracking and SEO and Keyword Recommendations. The Associate, Paid Search Media plays a critical role in developing and executing paid search campaigns that drive targeted traffic and maximize return on investment for our clients or internal stakeholders.

Responsibilities and Expectations:

Google Ad Grant Management

The Associate will manage Google Ad Grants a minimum of once every two weeks. “Standard Management” includes, but is not limited to:

  • Writing and testing text ads
  • Writing and testing ad extensions
  • Selecting new keywords to target qualified traffic
  • Selecting new negative keywords to exclude unqualified traffic
  • Performing regular quality checks on conversion tracking

The Associate will also build and manage new campaigns at the request of clients and account teams, delivered through Workfront. Every month the coordinator is responsible for sending Ad Grant reports to account teams for each client with an actively managed Ad Grant. They are delivered with notes about performance, changes, optimizations, requests for new campaign assets and any necessary internal notes.

Paid Search Management

The Associate will manage paid search accounts a minimum of once each week.

“Standard Management” includes, but is not limited to:

  • Writing and testing text ads
  • Writing and testing ad extensions
  • Adjusting bids to optimize for CPA
  • Reviewing and pacing budget against media plans
  • Selecting new keywords to target qualified traffic
  • Selecting new negative keywords to exclude unqualified traffic
  • Performing regular quality checks on conversion tracking

The Associate will also build and manage new paid campaigns at the request of clients and account teams, delivered through Workfront.

They are responsible for any under or over-pacing that occurs in paid search by monitoring monthly budgets and media plans for each individual client. Reporting on paid search performance varies by client. Reporting requests may come internally from the media team or from account teams.

Conversion Tracking

The media team uses Google Tag Manager for the installation and firing of conversion tags in AdWords and Bing. The Associate is responsible for setting up conversion tracking at launch if possible. Anything outside the expected realm of expertise of the media team needs to be brought to the attention of the account and technical teams to follow up with a successful technical solution.

SEO and Keyword Recommendations

The account teams look to the media team for guidance regarding Search Engine Optimization. Keyword recommendations are used by the creative and technical teams to determine copy elements on the page and within the code of the page for media and non-media landing pages.

The Associate is responsible for producing these recommendations for National client pages.

These keywords can be informed by:

  • Keyword planner tools from AdWords, Bing or other sources
  • Research in the form of your own organic searches
  • Planned keywords for targeting, including long tail search terms
  • Planned copy for text ads driving to the page

Requirements:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills
  • Experience with Workfront or similar applications
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
