About the Role
Eleven Media is looking for an experienced Senior Editor to lead our Entertainment coverage. This is a leadership role focused on breaking entertainment news, analysis, commentary, explainers, and in-depth reporting. This is not traditional SEO content writing.

  • Track breaking entertainment news, identify important developments, and ensure timely, comprehensive coverage across the team.
  • Guide, train, mentor, and develop writers and sub-editors through regular feedback and coaching.
  • Assign stories, identify strong editorial angles, and help shape reporting, analysis, explainers, and commentary.
  • Review, edit, and occasionally write stories while maintaining the highest editorial standards.
  • Ensure accuracy, fairness, sourcing, consistency, and overall editorial hygiene across all published content.
  • Monitor audience performance, identify trends, review analytics, and use insights to improve editorial strategy and coverage.
  • Help recruit, interview, onboard, and develop editorial talent.
  • Maintain clear communication across the editorial team and ensure priorities are aligned throughout the news cycle.
  • Take ownership of the overall quality, consistency, and performance of the Entertainment editorial team.
  • Remain flexible during breaking news, award seasons, premieres, major industry announcements, and other high-impact entertainment events.

What You Will Need
  • Significant professional experience editing and leading coverage of entertainment, Hollywood, television, movies, celebrities, or pop culture.
  • Previous experience managing, mentoring, or leading editorial teams in a newsroom or digital publishing environment.
  • A strong understanding of the entertainment industry, including studios, streaming platforms, television, film, celebrity culture, and awards.
  • Outstanding editorial judgment and the ability to identify stories and angles that resonate with entertainment audiences.
  • Excellent editing, research, reporting, fact-checking, and analytical skills.
  • The ability to distinguish verified facts, reported claims, analysis, and opinion while maintaining high editorial standards.
  • Experience planning editorial coverage around breaking news, major releases, award shows, premieres, and long-term entertainment trends.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Experience using analytics and audience insights to improve editorial performance and coverage strategy.
  • Close attention to detail and a commitment to editorial accuracy, consistency, and quality.
  • Strong ownership, accountability, and a willingness to take responsibility for team performance.
