We are seeking a Technical Services Controls Technician to join ThermalWorks.This position will report to and receive support from ThermalWorks and Edge Automation Technical Services Leadership in the U.S. while partnering closely with Spain Project and Service Management to support local priorities. This is a highly hands-on technical role focused on the installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and support of ThermalWorks' automated control systems. The successful candidate will work closely with the U.S.-based automation team to support system deployments, remote monitoring, and service activities across Europe.

This role is part of the support team that services the entire our Endeavour ecosystem and contributes to the overall health and success of the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Include but are not limited to:

  • Provide technical support for software configuration, updates, and troubleshooting related to ThermalWorks control systems.
  • Connect to and monitor critical system operations requiring remote support from the U.S.; progressively assume greater ownership of these monitoring activities as proficiency develops.
  • Serve as a technical liaison between the U.S.-based automation team and customers, vendors, and project teams across Europe.
  • Configure, install, commission, test, troubleshoot, and support ThermalWorks automated control systems, including:
    • PLC/DDC controllers
    • Network switches
    • Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS)
    • Compressors and associated accessories
    • Control system accessories
    • Factory-supplied field devices
  • Support startup activities, field service visits, and commissioning efforts for customer installations.
  • Assist with diagnosing technical issues and coordinating resolutions with internal engineering, automation, and service teams.
  • Maintain accurate technical documentation and communicate project status and service findings to internal stakeholders.

Education and Experience

  • Higher Vocational Training (FP Grado Superior), Associate degree, or equivalent technical qualification in Automation, Industrial Electronics, Electrical Systems, Mechatronics, Industrial Maintenance, or a related technical discipline.
  • 3–5 years of experience supporting, installing, commissioning, or troubleshooting industrial automation or control systems.
  • Technical training or certifications in PLCs, DDC systems, Siemens TIA Portal, or similar automation platforms are preferred.
  • Experience configuring, commissioning, and supporting automated control systems.
  • Experience working with networked control environments, including industrial networking and system connectivity.
  • Experience supporting commissioning and troubleshooting activities in industrial facilities, commercial buildings, data centers, or similar environments.

Specific Skills / Abilities

  • Proficiency with PLC/DDC controllers and building or process control systems
  • Familiarity with electrical systems and components, including ATSs, compressors, and associated accessories
  • Ability to support and coordinate with vendors, subcontractors, and technical teams
  • Knowledge of energy systems, HVAC, or building management systems (BMS/PMS)
  • Strong understanding of technical documentation, system design, and control processes
  • Ability to work hands-on in both field and technical support environments
